Clean modern rooms but mattress and pillows were very uncomfortable. Lots of storage in the room and bathroom. The bathroom has clearly had very last minute and somewhat botched attempts at maintenance. Cleaning was adequate throughout the stay. We had a garden view facing a hotel to the right of the hotel and as the season began loud music played from there until midnight. This was frustrating as light sleepers. The food was nice but repetitive, very little variation in the buffer from lunch to dinner and day to day. The beach food bar and the pool snack bar are not great. However, dinner did seem to improve as the season really began. Drinks selection were good and I recommend having cocktails at the pool bar and lobby bar - the staff there are very friendly and welcoming. Also the staff at the patisserie are really nice and it was a nice added touch that they remembered our coffee orders! The A La Carte Italian was very nice and the best meal of the stay. For a 5* hotel, the pools are not big enough - especially for the number of guests. Yes there is a beach but not everyone likes to be at the beach. The location of the towel change is inconvenient, having it at the beach and at the spa is not accessible and really there should be an outside location near one of the pools. Staff are friendly, however the manager (don’t know his name) near reception was very stand off-ish when we requested information about checkout. This was as we had received no information about checkout time at all, nor about luggage storage or shower facilities and we were forced to seek this information out ourselves. I’ve never had this in any hotels I have ever stayed in. Location is good, the bus can be caught just past Linda hotel for €1.50 per person to Side Old Town. The ruins were amazing and it was lovely to see the history. Overall, I would not stay here again. This is pushing a 4* hotel at best.
