After a bumpy ride from Lusaka to South Luangwa, and a shocking experience at Croc Valey (avoid at all costs) we discovered Track and Trail River Camp where we spent five unforgettable days and nights . We stayed in “Hippo House” — not for the faint-hearted, as it’s set alone in the wild — but for us, it was hands down the best bush stay we’ve ever had. Watching elephants, hippos, and birds from the verandah rivalled any drive in the park. A real privilege. Gret facilities and restaurant overlooking the Luangwa River. The lodge chalets and camping ground are some of the best Ive experienced , great decor and well maintained. Staff and owners were efficient and friendly . A great find .

Safe camping experience, good facilites and water points, good ablutions, excellent guest areas with beautiful views and wifi, excleelent attentive service, very happy camper. pool, lovely grounds, good food if needed, helpful staff. I will stay here again!

Inmiddels ben ik al meerdere keren bij Track & Trail geweest voor een foto safari. Wat een geweldige plek blijft dit toch! Gelegen aan de kronkelende Luangwa rivier, met aan de overkant van de lodge het immense Luangwa NP. Op de lodge is alles tot in de puntjes geregeld, een hele fijne en vriendelijke staf, heerlijk eten (elke dag een smaakvol 3 gangen diner en lunch), geweldige accommodate waarvan meerdere huisjes over de rivier uitkijken, en het wildlife dichtbij. De apen, olifanten en ‘s nachts ook nijlpaarden lopen gewoon over het terrein van de lodge (het Luangwa NP is niet omheind, dus dieren kunnen vrij bewegen). De gamedrives ‘s-ochtends en s-middags zijn elke keer weer een nieuw avontuur. Geen gamedrive is hetzelfde,unieke ervaringen in een (ook landschappelijk) prachtig gebied. Voor natuurfotografen een must go deze plek! Luipaarden, olifanten, giraffen maar ook wilde honden, leeuwen en prachtig gekleurde vogels, ze zijn er allemaal. Een plek waar ik keer op keer wil blijven terugkeren, en eigenlijk stiekem altijd moeite heb om weer te verlaten.

Superb lodge. Very good value relative to other options in the Valley. All staff were outstanding. To highlight Vic our driver guide, our spotter, Kenon who was managing the lodge as the Directors were away, Albert who is training to be a guide, the chefs who did a great job, the security watchmen, maids, etc. Would highly recommend.

Mooie lodge aan de rivieroever op vijf minuten van de ingang van het park. Uitstekend restaurant met uitstekende bediening. Twee keer per dag een game drive. Peter kent alle mooie plekjes in het park.

We are family Agachi, University Professors from Romania. We had the best experience with the accommodation and services. The camp has very good management. The hosts (Chichi and all staff, from cleaners to chef and waiters) are wonderful, they treat you with consideration, politeness and with warm friendship. Chichi, the manager(?), is a special person, intelligent and effective. The guided tours have exceptionally well prepared guides (we had Vic), very knowledgeble in flora, fauna and geography and trying to cope with all requests from the tourists. The cuisine is exquisite, tasty, the meals are looking like art objects. It was better than what we ate in Capetown, Cluj, our city in Romania, Paris or Budapest. I think best chef here around. Location and camp arrangement are some of the best we encountered in Africa. Thank you TTRC.

We stayed at Track and Trail for 6 nights in July 2024 with our daughter (12) . We are self drivers but not campers and Track and Trails was the perfect place for us. The family chalet are large and very comfortable with a nice view over the river, and the food is …out of this world; really the best we had during our 5 weeks in Zambia. The camp is very close from the gate, very important in the morning when you want to enter early in the park. The area of the lodge was incredible with many animals roaming everywhere and so were the staff. All of them were treating us as we were family members and it was really hard to leave this wonderful place. We had great sightings in the park as well, which is a dream for photographers.
