My recent stay at Plantation Island Resort was absolutely delightful! The location was stunning, with pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The resort itself was immaculate, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The facilities were top-notch, offering a variety of activities for all ages. I especially enjoyed the delicious food and the lively entertainment. Overall, I highly recommend Plantation Island Resort for a relaxing and unforgettable vacation.

The seaside bungalows are great, the beach is right outside the door. There is a living room, and a small room with a big bed, two single beds, and two sofas, which can sleep 5-6 people. There are many activities in the village, but there are not many options for eating, and there are many flies in the restaurant.

As a group if 18 we had a lovely time at Plantation Island. The food was good, kids buffet was excellent and a bonus to be able to walk to Musket Cove for cheap ice creams. Pools lovely and always lots of available seating and shade around pool area. We have stayed at other resorts in Fiji and felt that the staff were "disinterested". We were excited to see a "family fun day" after arriving at location advertised we were told to come back 3 times before we gave up. The same thing happened for touch rugby. Other resorts we have stayed at the staff would join in and make sure advertised sports activities happened. Also every morning at 3am a tractor was driving around which woke a number of our party up due to only shutters on the windows. All and all we had a great time and hope this feedback helps.

Certainly. Here’s a clear and respectful complaint letter you can use or adapt: ⸻ Subject: Formal Complaint – Unprofessional Treatment at Tavola Restaurant, Plantation Island Resort Dear Plantation Island Resort Management, I am writing to express my disappointment regarding the treatment we received at the Tavola Restaurant during our recent visit to your resort. Upon arrival, we were seated and proceeded to order drinks, with the clear intention of enjoying a full lunch at the restaurant. However, shortly after placing our drink order, the restaurant supervisor approached us and asked for immediate payment for the drinks—before we had even received them, and before we had a chance to order our meals. This request felt unwelcoming and discriminatory, as it is not standard practice in most hospitality settings, especially at a reputable resort such as Plantation Island. It gave the impression that we were not trusted as patrons, and created an uncomfortable and embarrassing atmosphere for our group. We had every intention of dining at the restaurant and were looking forward to a relaxing lunch, but the way we were treated made us feel singled out and disrespected. This experience fell far short of the level of professionalism and hospitality we expected from a resort of your standing. We ask that this issue be looked into seriously, and that appropriate steps be taken to ensure no other guests are treated this way in the future. We hope to hear back from you regarding how this will be addressed. format this as an email or letter you can send directly?

This was one of the most frustrating and underwhelming resort experiences I’ve had, especially compared to other nearby islands in Fiji. Let’s start with the dining situation. Restaurants must be booked at least three days in advance, or you're out of luck. No flexibility, no walk-ins — just buffet. And the buffet? Bland, overpriced, and bare minimum cafeteria quality. Drinks aren’t even served unless you chase someone down, and even then, expect long waits for something as basic as ketchup. The staff is clearly stretched thin, and it shows. The overall service and morale are low. Employees seem unhappy and disengaged, and compared to other resorts (like Musket Cove next door), the difference in energy and hospitality is stark. Service here is reactive — if you don’t ask, you don’t get. No one checks on you, asks how you’re doing, or offers assistance unless you initiate it. Currency exchange is not readily available. It’s only available when they have the right currency, at their convenience (depending on when guests come in)— not yours. For a resort that hosts international guests, this was a major inconvenience. The shops on the grounds are mediocre at best. Low-quality toys, overpriced clothing, and the kicker? They’re run by separate vendors, so you can’t charge anything to your room — everything is separate payments. Unorganized and outdated. Back to the food — not only is it overpriced and mediocre, but there’s zero flexibility. Want to swap fries for another salad? Too bad. They won’t accommodate even the simplest dietary requests or preferences. Not ideal for picky or healthier eaters. Housekeeping? Every three days. So yes, you’ll basically be managing your own space for the most part. And the rooms? Dated, poorly ventilated, with thin walls. We smelled fires from the island for days. Hard beds, just a sheet and a thin quilt — definitely not the comfort you'd expect on vacation. And let’s talk groundskeeping — the property is not well-maintained. Compared to its neighbor Musket Cove, Plantation feels neglected, less lush, and not nearly as clean or cared for. Bottom line: the beach is pretty— but that’s where the magic ends. If you value service, comfort, and quality, this place will likely disappoint. I wouldn’t return, and I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re prepared to micromanage every aspect of your “relaxing” vacation.
