We happened to be the only guest staying and had booked a first floor room which I believe would have afforded us some privacy. We were put downstairs in a similar sized room (so no free upgrade!) and the room had no privacy from passing staff unless the curtains were drawn. The loungers round the pool were rock solid so uncomfortable. Breakfast included in the room rate was a pretty mean affair of cona coffee, a sweet roll and small fruit bowl, eggs etc charged extra. Malinalco itself we found to be rather charmless and midweek most restaurants shut at 5 or 6pm, so generally would give the whole place a miss.

Absolutely lovely hotel in the delightful and historic town of Malinalco (worth a visit for sure!) The hotel is located in a quiet residential area approximately a twenty minute walk from city center. It's a great place to be, close to, but away from the hustle and bustle (taxis as aplenty but note if walking, the streets are largely cobbled). Rooms are located around a central courtyard with an outdoor seating area and swimming pool. The staff is absolutely wonderful and helpful, the rooms large, and the bed possibly the most comfortable I have ever slept in. Really nice. On the negative side, the bathroom was small and had absolutely no shelf space anywhere, which made it difficult to navigate. (We were in the "ROSA" room; others may be different). The stay includes free breakfast, which was nice but with limited options for both food and drink. I would certainly not hesitate to stay here again.
