Hotel June Malibu

I called Hotel June Malibu today at 4:30pm to inquire about availability for a reservation tonight or tomorrow. Unfortunately, I was met with extreme rudeness and unprofessionalism from a woman named Robyn who answered the phone. When I politely asked if they rented by the hour (a common question for flexibility), she abruptly said no and tried to hang up. I then asked about overnight availability after 6 PM, and again she quickly tried to end the call without offering help. When I asked about tomorrow night instead, she started checking, but refused to answer any other questions about the property and said a manager would have to call me back — without even asking for my name or number. When I said I’d wait on the line, she claimed no manager was available and then hung up on me without resolving anything. I called back four times, and no one answered. It’s baffling that someone in a hospitality role would treat a potential guest this way. Robyn’s tone and behavior were dismissive and unprofessional. I hope management addresses this issue seriously, as this experience left a terrible impression and made me reconsider ever staying here!

But don’t let the size fool you. What it lacks in scale, it more than makes up for in soul. The rooms? Thoughtfully designed, with those subtle touches that whisper good taste instead of shouting trends. Think: crisp linens, warm light, and materials that feel like someone cared. The kind of care you rarely find in cookie-cutter resorts. The staff? Some of the kindest I’ve met. Genuinely attentive, beautifully relaxed—like Malibu itself. Cute property, very minimalist. Next to Pacific Coast hwy so a bit noisy.

This Malibu property is a rare find—quiet, private, and perfect for families. While there is some noise from PCH, everything else exceeded expectations. Highly recommended!

Wonderful stay at June! Would definitely stay again, staff is very friendly, rooms were comfortable and clean, and products were top notch. Very cute pool area to hang out and relax in. Really love the little extras this hotel offers like surf boards all the beach necessities like umbrellas, coolers, chairs. Only downside is that you have to drive everywhere in Malibu but that’s nothing to do with the hotel. Bring ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper as you’re right off the PCH. I slept great! All in all great place.

Not Chic and Cool. Cheaply done and cold. The lobby was fine. As we were checking in we were informed that we had to pay to park. There was no parking lot since the recent storm so we had to park in front of our room 1/2 way on the sidewalk. I thought the room was bad until I was FaceTiming a friend. She asked me if I was allowed to have a phone in jail. I told her I was in a hotel. She said it looks like a jail and I agree 100 percent. That was the perfect description. The dirty brass, filthy Venetian plaster, and the cement floors added to the jailhouse vibe. The road noise doesn’t help at all. The rooms are actually backed into the highway. It looks like the designer was going for a chic and cool beach pad feel. Instead it is cheap and cold. There are no real amenities in the room but a mini bar I paid $16.50 for chips and a coke. I wish we would have stayed over the hill in Calabasas.
