Stunning location, the restaurant/food is lovely. Staff couldn’t be friendlier, nothing was a bother to them. The room was super cosy. Dogs are really welcomed, the snug looked lovely but we didn’t actually use it as we opted to sit out by the stream. We would definitely stay again. Thank you!

The food is the star here. It's delicious and very reasonably priced. It has great ambience, friendly staff, and a really nice vibe. I hope it's helping to show meat eaters (and vegetarians) that plant-based food can be inventive and tasty.

Amazing food both at breakfast and evening meal. Lots of choice and all plant based. A stunning location with the beck running directly in front of the hotel. A very warm welcome from the staff, lots of great walking in the area and couple of good pubs in the village as well. Cant wait to return!!

We have just returned from a 3 night break, with our dog and we can’t say enough about our stay. The friendly staff who are so warm and attentive, the comfortable and cosy log fire lounge and the food which is some of the best vegan food we’ve eaten - so hearty, creative and absolutely delicious. To top it off, the location is incredible with the most dramatic scenery for unforgettable hikes, right on the doorstep and a fabulous, country pub just down the road. We can’t wait to return.

Amazing hotel experience, right beside the river and beautiful gardens, if you enjoy walking there are walking routes everywhere, we are both vegans and the food was as good as it gets, plenty of choice, also had the afternoon tea which was delicious and well worth the £16.95 we paid. The rooms were excellent staff were all very friendly and helpful, it was our first time there but will definitely be going back,

This is a very special and unique place in multiple ways - the location, service, ambience and quality of the food. It is family run with passion and it feels like everyone is invested. And yet for all the superlatives I could use it is also comfortably understated and not at all preachy or pretentious. Dogs are treated with the same consideration as their humans as a matter of course. As a business it is extremely well conceived and executed - all of which makes for an enjoyable stay. For the evening meal I had a delicious Indian thali and my friend chose the Banana blossom and chips which I’d tried and raved about from a previous lunch visit. Neither of these disappointed. We tried a couple of the starters featuring seitan out of curiosity and because we could. Flavours were good but we weren’t keen on the texture, probably because neither of us have eaten meat for so long. Breakfast offered a good range of continental and cooked options and portions were generous. The chef is clearly inspired and creative. If I had one piece of constructive feedback it would be to see more fresh vegetables being used and more protein in the form of pulses, nuts and grains. Rooms are comfortable, clean and well appointed. The restaurant has a wonderfully relaxed vibe and the open fire and snug are very atmospheric. This place deserves every success and I look forward to returning.

What a fantastic place! This is a vegan bolthole in stunning Yorkshire countryside. The friendly staff welcome you into a cute location over a babbling brook, with lovely log fires and comfortable rooms in a historic building.. but best of all…. 🎉 ….everything is plant-based. The food is amazing and plentiful, great cocktails, good wines and local beer accompany a delicious 3 course dinner followed the next morning by a wonderful a la carte breakfast menu. If you add in fabulous walking country to this, what’s not to love. Guests have private parking and you can bring your dogs too. Thank you. We will be back.

I have just spent a weekend here with my daughter and our 3 retrievers. My daughter is vegan and I am heading that way so not having to worry about what to order was amazing and the food was really good. However, it was the location that was special. The stream outside and all of the walks straight from the hotel. The staff are super friendly. Our room was quite basic but perfect with dogs We will definitely return

Bed and bedding is comfy, we loved our room by the babbling river. Staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Portions for breakfast and dinner were humungous, we felt a bit guilt at not finishing our meals as they were excellent. You wont go hungry thats for sure. Great location for simple hikes/walks. Ignore the reviews from salty meat eaters LOL, this is exactly what it states, a vegan hotel that is 100% dog friendly. We will be back for sure.
