A lovely rustic hotel in the most fantastic location with lovely walks from the door. The rooms are large and have everything you need . Well decorated and a lovely shower in our room. The staff are friendly and happy to help. Food is good pub fare and the breakfasts are excellent.

Visited three times whilst staying in a cottage in the village. The Sunday lunch was lovely. My husband said the fish pie was lovely, however he did have food envy we he saw mine and my son’s steaks. I had the fillet and I think it was quite possibly the nicest steak I have ever had.

This review has nothing to do with how good or bad the hotel is but rather the management who have shown zero compassion and shown that business is far more important than their customers. We booked to go in August following the death of my mum late last year. Unfortunately I suffered multiple nerve compressions, a prolapsed disc and was subsequently diagnosed with PTSD, anxiety, stress and depression. My dad is in hospital and very nearly died a few weeks ago so to be away from him is just not possible, Despite contacting the hotel and explaining what I think are quite extreme circumstances they simply said that they won’t cancel without full payment nor move the booking. I am so shocked and sad that what looks like a lovely hotel is run by people who clearly don’t care. They could have easily agreed to make an exception for us and do the right thing but to outright refuse is appalling.

Really good food, staff super helpful and funny, Steph, Ali, John and the rest of the crew. Local burger, lamb shank, pies are all amazing. Great cheese board with pickles and buscuits. Good selection of drinks. Amazing location near Malham Cove.

Booked the savoury afternoon tea for our wedding anniversary, it was fabulous, I could not recommend it highly enough. My husband loved his little trio of ales that he had with it!

Sadly we didn't get to eat in this pub - I sent a booking request 5 days ago for this weekend, which was acknowledged the same day, but not confirmed. I have tried to ring them 6 times at different times over the last 4 days - no response. Today I have received an email saying they cannot accommodate our booking! Fortunately one of the other local pubs has been very helpful and booked us in at short notice. This isn't the level of customer service to be expected from what seems to be a very popular pub - what a shame!
