We stayed for 10 nights in this all inclusive hotel and all we could say is that it was excellent. When we arrived check-in was very smooth, we got told all the useful information that we may require during our stay including a porter who brought our suitcases to our room as well as showing us where it was located. During Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner there was plenty of options although some meals did repeat. There is a pool bar open from 10:00 which offers, drinks all day including cakes and ice-creams at certain times of the day. The pools are open from 10:00 till 18:00 but make sure your ready early as sunbeds do go fast depending on time of year. There is a beach not far away which you can walk too or use the free shuffle bus provided by the hotel. If you want to visit the capital city (Heraklion) there is a bus timetable at reception and the bus stop that is located outside the hotel on the main road. The rooms are cleaned daily and most days we came across a special touch left on the bed. At night there was entertainment available from 21:00 or 21:30 depending on the day located at the Amptheater which changed each day. Make sure you get there early though as seats fill up fast. There isn't much in the area, but you can get some amazing sunset photos not so far away from the cliffs. There is also one staff member, who has been very helpful and amazing during our stay which was Maria who worked at the pool bar. She always served us very quick and was always there to give us ice-cream and even asked us every time we got there 'vanilla ice-cream?' as she always knew what we came for every time. We would recommend this hotel to people who want to stay at the resort all day as there isn't much in the area, so if you want to go places you would need a taxi. Overall, we would rate this hotel 5 stars but if your somebody who wants to explore more this hotel maybe isn't for you.

Just returned after 2 weeks staying at the Blue Bay resort. It was fantastic. Cannot fault the service, the cleanliness, and the staff. We had a family room which was spacious and had 2 bathrooms. Maids in each day even to just change your towels make bed. Maria on the pool bar is lovely x A credit to your hotel. The restaurant food is amazing lots to choose from. In our first week they did a survey and I suggested they should have a kid section with kid food ie nuggets/ pizza etc for fussier eatèr. A day or so later a kids section was there. Im sure i wasnt the only one who suggested it. The hotel listens. Be careful The puddings are amazing ! Yes the drinks menu is a ****** but was aware before we went out. To be fair we stuck with the beer and sangria.. and some of the cocktails aren't too bad. The walk down to the beach is steep but well worth it it is clean and maintained by the families that own the shops and restaurants. The sea is beautifully clear. We did snorkeling down there we have our own stuff and there are lots of fish. My daughter saw an octopus. Sun beds are 2 beds for €10. There is a dive shop and you can dive there and hire different types of boats and paddleboards. There is also jet skis and the inflatable sofa that gets towed by a boat. The shops sell everything snorkeling equipment to beach shoes which are a good idea as a shingle beach. There's also a small supermarket and gift shops. Two restaurants down there are amazing. The sea view doesn't take bookings serves food 10 till 6ish. and the food is delicious. Valais is booking and again amazing food and lots of it... we struggled with the amount of food. Plus the pittas and aioli they give you and cheese and olives. Cocktails at both of these place are divine. They are both family run and they also have the gift shop. Which sells the same things you would get in Agia pelagia or Heraklion. We shopped local. We went to Knossos in a taxi from the hotel organised by reception leaving at 7:30am cost €45 to be at Knossos for its opening at 8am. It's worth a visit but boring for kids 🤣. We were on a bus to Heraklion by 9:15. The bus on main road no 20 cost €2.50 per person into Heraklion. Takes 15mins. We had a walk around Heraklion and went to the Bazaar which was basically a street lined with shops each side. Each were selling similar items . The market unfortunately wasn't on on the day we were in Heraklion. We had lunch at a lovely restaurant At Home. And went to get the bus back to the hotel from the central bus station. It would have cost €4 each but wasn't for 2.5 hours. It was so hot we didn't want to wait that long.. The taxi man had given us his card. And he came and collected us. Same charge back to hotel and to knossos. We also visited water city. We were picked up at 9am ish and left there at 4:30. Driver gives you bus no on arrival there for bus back to hotel amd time. You pay for lockers to put your valuables in. You don't need money inside ther

Lovely relaxing holiday. Staff fantastic, very clean, food good for all inclusive. The pools are very small, you cannot really swim especially when the hotel is busy. Lots of families with inflatables and balls! Beach lovely, although a very steep walk back. Not a lot to do here, you would need a car. Overall a good place but disappointingly small pools.

We have just returned home from a lovely, relaxing, celebratory stay at Blue Bay Resort.(This is a long read, so grab a coffee!!) I must start off by saying that I ALWAYS read reviews of hotels/places of interest etc etc before I go anywhere. So I already knew that the only alcohol that was served was local wines, beers, Ouzo and Reki, so this didn't particularly bother us, although I have to admit, we didn't really like the Ouzo or Raki so we did pay extra for Bacardi and cokes and Pina Colada (only a handful of times as we don't really drink much anyway). I was also already aware that we were staying in the Annex complex which is a walk away from the hotel, so this didn't come as a surprise either. The only thing I will say about that Annex is that it's up a hill, and if you're returning back to your room from lunch on a hot sunny July day, it will take it out of you!! So we did try, as much as we could, to avoid doing the walk in the blistering heat. There was the added bonus of a pool above our apartment/room, plus a fab roof terrace bar with a brilliant and fun barman and a pool table. We did the music playing quite loudly at night time, but this didn't really bother us as I always listen to sounds on my phone app to help me sleep anyway, although the sounds of the balls from the pool table falling on the floor (which was right above our heads!) was very loud, but it didn't happen enough to warrant mentioning it. The rooms (well, the one we had) are outdated, again, I was aware of this from previous reviews, but it was brilliantly clean and tidy, and the beds were made each day with fresh towels and linen which was lovely! I need to mention a few people.. UTE - This lovely lady helped us to renew our wedding vows at the Chapel and provided a beautiful service for us to help mark the occasion, she had written some words herself and we created a sandwich ritual to mark the occasion. Ute opened the Chapel for us to have the ceremony, whereas I only thought we would stand in front of it. Myself and Ute had been talking for weeks and weeks beforehand preparing for the occasion and to end the day with an AMAZING meal in the A la Carte restaurant.... I must mention, I had the most delicious Feta cheese I have EVER had that night!!!!! Thank you so much Ute for all of your help, patience and for being so lovely and kind. GEORGE - I was directed to George, the restaurant manager after I seeked help when our son started developing IBS symptoms, which was awful for him, and George was fantastic with providing my son's with endless gluten free pancakes and lactose free milk. George was so accommodating with this and always delivering it straight to our table. RECEPTION - I didn't catch anyone's names here unfortunately, but all of the female staff were so lovely and so helpful (I only came across 2 male staff there, most of the time it was the two ladies) they were always smiling and happy to help. The restaurant is impeccably clean, and the food was

Just returned from a wonderful stay at the Blue Bay Resort. We went as a family of 12 and stayed in the Annex rooms. We loved the pool at the Annex as it was more quiet than at the main hotel. The restaurant food was amazing , so much choice and very clean. We enjoyed all of the bars and drinks but especially the Annex bar and would like to give a special mention to Antonio who made our stay very fun and memorable. All of the staff were very friendly and welcoming and willing to help with any problem. We visited Agia Pelagia and Mononaftis Bay which were both lovely. Some of our group went on a sunset quad safari which they said was amazing. We also done a day trip arranged by the hotel to Aqua Plus water park which was a fun day out. We would definitely return.

A lovely, well-balanced family hotel experience with everything you would need in an all-inclusive resort. Fairly well secluded up in the mountains, but with enough activities for the children to do if you fancy a quiet trip away. Absolute bliss 😊 Along with bars and pools within the resort you also have available an annex 100 yards up the hill which also supplies drink, food and a quieter pool area for some nice relaxation, the views are something to behold, so take it all in. Food is fantastic - I've been really impressed with the selection and availability, with staff being very helpful and friendly.
