Seaside A Lifestyle Resort - Adults Only

We stayed at Seaside Resort in Crete recently and overall had a good experience, but it didn’t quite deliver the full 5* standard we were expecting. The positives are clear: the location is absolutely stunning, set high on the cliffs with breathtaking sea views. The resort itself is stylish, modern and very well maintained. The spa was excellent – one of the highlights of our stay – with a great range of treatments and a really relaxing atmosphere. That said, there are a few areas where the resort falls short. The gym is very basic and feels like an afterthought compared to the spa. When we arrived, we were given a standard room instead of the premium one we had paid for. This was quickly corrected, but not the smoothest start. The rooms are clean and comfortable, but the TV channels are extremely limited, with hardly any English options. Dining was a mixed bag. The speciality restaurants are limited, and drinks aren’t included with meals, which makes the all-inclusive feel less generous than advertised. At Oceano, our first two courses were served in just 18 minutes – efficient, but it left the meal feeling rushed rather than relaxed. Entertainment is another area that could be improved. Daytime activities are minimal and the evenings are fairly quiet, so if you’re looking for a lively atmosphere, you may be disappointed. Staff were polite and professional, but the personal touches and warmth you’d normally expect at this level just weren’t consistent. Overall, Seaside Resort is a beautiful property in a fantastic location and we did enjoy our stay. With improvements to the dining experience, entertainment, and attention to detail in service, it could genuinely live up to its 5* billing. As it stands, we’d rate it more as a good 4*, worth visiting if you go in with the right expectations.

Just returned from a 13 night stay and have mixed feelings about the hotel. All abit confusing! We had two swim up rooms with shared pool and side sea view. I’ll start with the positives, the resort is beautiful with amazing views no matter where you are. The style and vibe of the place was great, our room was nice although abit short on storage for a 13 night stay. (Not one draw in the bedroom?) The shared pool was great, loungers very high quality and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. All the restaurants and bars were blessed with spectacular views and the restaurants were all also nicely furnished and decorated. The resort is vey clean and tidy, definitely well maintained. Now to the negatives, this is where the hotel falls short of offering a five star experience. We arrived and were taken to our room, there was a dirty bath towel on the floor of the shower. (Not a major issue but not a great start) We were then shown the mini bar = 2 bottles of water! We had paid the extra for the shared pool so we could avoid the busyness of one of the main pools and the hassle of getting 4 loungers together etc. from our room you had to negotiate 2 corridors, up 4 floors in the lift, 150ish metre walk and then down some steps to get to the nearest bar if we wanted a drink! This is a long way short of what we have experienced at other 5 star hotels around the world. The all all inclusive package is very frustrating and significantly short of been 5 star. The wine served at the bars is on draft and of very poor quality, same as the beer and the soft drinks which are non brand and sickly sweet. My wife asked for a sparking wine as she likes a presecco, was served from a bottle that wasn’t stored in a fridge and was flat. You will need to ask for ice with the wine as this is not cold either. You can have one brand of vodka/gin etc at the bars, this was no problem as the vodka was absolute so ok- this is where it all gets very frustrating! We dined at the main buffet restaurant, my wife doesn’t touch wine, generally drinks cocktails. Gin or presecco. She asked for a gin but was told couldn’t have? She then asked for a glass of sparkling wine and was again told couldn’t have unless she paid additional charge? If you don’t want to pay extra for an alcoholic drink in the main restaurant, you can only have wine or beer? Why is it not the same policy as the bars. We we’re entitled to three visits to the specialty restaurants for our 13 night stay and having studied the various menus were struggling with my two daughters, they only liked the menu at the Japanese restaurant. I made a request with customer relations to be allowed to use 2 of our bookings for the Japanese restaurant and explained why, we were told no, no exceptions could be made and they even suggested that I was asking for additional services? If you want to visit one of the speciality restaurants more than once, it’s 49 euros per person. Incredibly poor customer service for what I thought

We had a wonderful experience at Seaside A Lifestyle Resort for our honeymoon. We had a suite on the rocks, booked the love island honeymoon package and dined in one of the al la carte restaurants. The room and views were stunning and the staff all friendly and attentive. The resort even helped when our travel agency messed our booking up and enabled us to upgrade to the room we wanted. We arrived during early hours and the staff were accommodating finding us a room to snooze before ours was available. When we got to our room it was exactly as pictured and didn't disappoint. The food was stunning and the floating breakfast a delight. Would highly recommend for an indulgant private get away.

Absolutely fantastic hotel. Beautifully presented with comfortable rooms, bars and restaurants. The staff are extremely friendly and professional and nothing is too much trouble. The food and drink options were excellent apart from the staff attitude in Umi (one of the a la carte restaurants), they need some staff training on how to be more friendly (and less about being “cool”). We stayed in the swim up rooms and they were perfect - stunning views over the bay and a lovely little beach so close. We will definitely return.
