Savage Wilderness - Hostel

Went to Mount Kenya with my school and it was my first time climbing on such a high mountain but the Savage wilderness Team was super amazing and organized I would highly recommend them. We even had yummy food and even toilets. They have a huge team so going as a big group is possible

We had an incredible experience with Savage Wilderness on our school trip to Mt Kenya! From start to finish, the journey exceeded my expectations. The 6-day itinerary on the Chogoria route was perfectly designed for our mixed group of children, parents, and teachers. The pacing of the trip allowed time to acclimatize to the altitude, which made all the difference, and safety was clearly a top priority. The organization of the trip was excellent, camp logistics ran very smoothly, and the food was great, making a challenging journey almost effortless for our group. The guides were knowledgeable and encouraging, creating an educational experience for the children alongside our adventure. Our trip to Mt Kenya with Savage Wilderness was unforgettable and we’ll treasure the memories!

We climbed Mount Kenya with the school. It was a large group of adults and children and Savage were incredible. Every detail was thought of, meals were delicious, the guides truly took the time to get to know us all and ensured we summited safely. A huge operation, which ran like a finely tuned machine. I couldn't recommend them more highly!

After camping in tents we were looking forward to some more luxury at this camp. But I felt cleaner in the tents than in the rooms. It was not clean, toilet seat not fitting, toiletpaper missing, bathroom door not properly closing, etc. This was the case for the cottage, but also the public toilet space - it looks like the owners have not invested in maintenance in the last 1,5-2 decades? The pancakes for breakfast were magnificent. It's a lovely garden and many activities that can be done.

Savage Wilderness is the epitome of fun and adventure, with the professionalism and attention to health and safety that needs to accompany it. Despite our last minute aim to save our New Year's from utter disaster at the nearby Rapids Camp (DO NOT GO THERE!!!), Glen - of the senior personell at Savage - went above and beyond to put a wonderful package together for us including lunch. Glen and his team stayed with us for seven hours to ensure that we had everything we needed, our trip to Sagana was well worth it, and that we enjoyed every moment! SAVAGE is the best option for anyone who wishes to be treated with professionally trained staff who are genuinely passionate about adventure activities and who actively seek to provide a memorable experience for everyone! The eldest member of our group was 75 years and the youngest 1 year old! And every single one us started 2022 with a hugely memorable and enjoyable day! We are extremely grateful to Glen and the whole team at SAVAGE who really saved the day with their impeccable customer service and good demeanour - a HUGE THANK YOU!
