We stayed here for one night to attend a family event near by. I paid £185 for the most basic room type, included breakfast. We arrived to find a beautiful building In an absolutely wonderful location. Lovely arts and crafts former Guards Club on the river with a garden sloping down to the waters edge. Inside they have decorated nicely and things are very relaxed. Our room was on the top floor and was compact but nicely furnished. Bed was comfortable, there was an excellent little fan and a compact bathroom. Where this place falls down is that for the money it really needs to be firing on all cylinders, and it really isn’t. In our room there were exposed nails, wiring hanging out of the room in the bathroom, a shower that was too narrow for a normal human, wonky and broken blinds and only one bedside lamp. Outside the garden has a pleasant outlook but is just scruffy and badly maintained. There is bright green plastic netting along most of the river frontage, weeds growing everywhere and rubbish littering the front of the deck. It just gives off a very run down and neglected appearance. Inside they operate an honesty bar, which is a lovely addition. However if you’re going to make it self service, £3 for a can of coke is absolutely outrageous. I understand it’s essentially a fee for the convenience but don’t rip your guests off. The biggest let down is breakfast. It is a light continental buffet which, when done right, is perfect. However, when aiming for the premium market, undercooked mini from pastries, some toast, a meagre selection of fridge cold fruit (including some shrivelled and gone off peaches) and some tasteless coffee just doesn’t cut the mustard. Tonight I am staying at a Premier Inn for £35. There are no exposed wires or broken fixtures here. If you’re going to aim for the luxury part of the market then provide a service that meets the price point. The general cleanliness’s and wear and tear of the whole property is just not of the required standard. They get away with this by marketing as a ‘club’ rather than a hotel as this place really really isn’t a hotel. With a bit of hard work and cash spending on it it could be wonderful but right now it’s not worth your money or your time

So quiet, everything so immaculate. Stunning river views and the most comfortable bed. A much needed peaceful night away. Breakfast was perfect. Pastries cooked to perfection. A taste of the high life that’s for sure. Would definitely go back.

Set in Italy location by the bank of the river overlooking the rowing club. We all had rooms with river views and sounds of birds and river life. The rooms were spacious, decorated simply and airily with lovely bedding. Gorgeous to be somewhere where there's a spirit of trust with an honesty bar, and also with a gorgeous breakfast in the morning sitting out on the patio. All in all an absolutely lovely stay

We enjoyed the River Arts Hotel for our 10 year anniversary. It's a beautiful environment next to the Thames river with nice walks, great restaurants (check out the Boathouse) and more. The hospitality of the River Arts Club crew was always friendly and happy to help.. thanks for creating a great weekend!

Fantastic welcome and such friendly helpful hosts. Beautiful house drenched in sunlight. Delightful decor. Spotlessly clean. We had a simple double room which was amply big enough and had a lovely view of the river. Vey comfortable bed and excellent shower. The garden ran down to the river and after breakfast we sat outside - we could have stayed all day. We came up got a family wedding and this hotel was the icing on the cake!

We just finished a stay at River Arts Club. It was a charming place to stay, and the staff was delightful. They recently changed management and the new team did a great job of making us feel at home!

Fabulous place to stay.... quiet, quaint, clean, beautiful setting. The owner and Elena are wonderful. Be sure to look at recent reviews, as this is under new ownership and seems to be greatly improved (from old reviews). Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend to anyone - stay here!

Incredibly, the River Arts Club Hotel has only been under new ownership for a mere eight weeks, and already it's a testament to the vision and passion of its inspiring new owner – a dynamic and visionary woman whose energy infuses every corner of the property. Under her guidance, the hotel has undergone a remarkable transformation, blending the rich history of the building with fresh, innovative ideas. Her commitment to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment shines through, making every guest feel valued and appreciated. It's truly remarkable to see what can be achieved in such a short time, and I have no doubt that the River Arts Club Hotel will continue to thrive under her leadership. If you're looking for a one-of-a-kind experience that celebrates art, culture, and community, look no further than this gem along the riverbank. No doubts, I'll be back!

My daughter and I stayed in the Club Suite downstairs and it was lovely. The bed was very comfortable and the view of the river and yard exceptional. There was so much room and a couch for lounging while river watching. Just outside the double doors is a porch with tables for lounging as well. Breakfast was made to order and wonderful with pressed coffee. Our hosts were wonderful and super responsive. I would definitely stay again only for a longer time.
