We recently stayed at the Chariot Beach Resort, and our experience was mixed. On the positive side, the staff were exceptionally courteous and friendly, and the resort's location was unbeatable, with a private beach accessible within the resort.
However, our cottage room required significant maintenance, with outdated bathroom tiles, poor water drainage, and noisy air conditioners. The surrounding area also needed attention to cleanliness.
The food was another letdown, with exorbitant prices not matched by the quality and taste. A pint of beer costing ₹500 was particularly shocking!
Another disappointing aspect was the limited availability of resort activities. All indoor games, including pool and carrom, shut down by 8 PM, and the swimming pool closed by 7 PM. This left us with nothing to do after 8 PM, making the resort feel more like a hostel or school than a hotel. It would have been nice to have these amenities available until at least 10 PM.
Despite these drawbacks, the resort's staff and location made our stay worthwhile. If the management addresses the maintenance and food pricing issues, this resort could reach its full potential.
