Lovely place to stay but think room would suit one person better only one chair at wee table but clean and fresh I enjoyed my stay will be back

Drove by sligo town to eat here having never been disappointed before. They are moving upmarket to become a restaurant instead of an exceptional Bistro pub with a more expensive menu which reads nice but did not deliver unfortunately. Meet and greet and the staff were excellent but the food was very very poor - crispy chicken which was soggy and totally over spiced with cheese on top - seemed to be microwaved actually - the veg were on the raw side of al dente and the potatoes were served in a bowl slathered in oil and actually disgusting. I was not charged for my one beer to satisfy my complaint and he was very nice and apologized. I know this pub to have the capability to serve excellent pub grub in the past and am loath to post this but we will not be stopping here again. Why did they change it when it wasn't broken just to add a few euros onto a meal - hate paying for poor food and no one minds paying a bit extra for great pub grub. Sorry but you are only as good as your last meal and it was v poor.

Bed was very very worn out and thus uncomfortable (and small). We had wanted twin beds but these twins were exceptionally small.

Maddens listened to our requests and fulfilled them to the T...from choice of room to choice of table for dinner to recommendations for drinks. The staff was friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed.
