Went for Sunday carvery. Very beautiful building but old and tired inside. Carvery was average, nice meat and Yorkshire's but potatoes and veg weren't great. Parking was chaos and requires an attendant so give yourself time to park as you are limited on table time. They done do kids carvery so we shared our plate with the toddler although they do other food on Sundays including kids meals. Service was a bit disorganised.

Best carvery we have ever had! We often travel 2 hours to haven site in Porthmadog and have started stopping her for Sunday lunch on the way home because its sooooo good. We will keep coming back. The staff are lovely and the chef carving the meat has a great sense of humour too. All the food is beautiful and today the lamb was exceptional

So we stayed Saturday 31st May 2025. Have to say the food for the evening meal we had was amazing and the staff were extremely friendly. The hotel room itself was nice, a few issues but was clean and comfortable. Shame about the WiFi not being available over night or in the morning. Anyway come breakfast time. The white bread was all stale so we asked the young lad who was I assume just a server, if the bread could be changed he went away and come back and said the bread was put out fresh this morning. (This was around 945 am so it had been out a few hours) so they refused to change it. Then a friend who was with us went to get some cereal that was out of date since January 2025! Then another friend who was also staying at the hotel on the table the marmite was dated August 2024. We all ordered our breakfast together and 1 persons was completely missed and we had all eaten before he even received his. No apology from any manager or anything with regards to the out of date food. Did make us wonder if the evening meal and cooked breakfast was also cooked with out of date food and it left a few of our party feeling queezy We did get an apology from the young lad and you could see he was extremely embarrassed and uncomfortable. For the price they charge it isn’t cheap. £274 we payed for 2 rooms and breakfast. You would think you would receive much better. Shame on the breakfast and the breakfast staff as the evening staff were great.

Was a great location, between two different places of hiking over a two day period.

You get what you pay for.
Stayed for two nights. Room was ok but tired. Food in the evenings was fairly good. Breakfast (eggs Benedict) was really awful and the service was diabolical. Service in the evenings wasnt good either. Don't think that staff training is probably anything that has been heard of here. Having said all that and giving credit where it's due, the evening food wasnt bad, the room was clean and all in all the stay was not expensive so as always I guess you get what you pay for. Didn't have breakfast on the second day as couldnt risk facing the same food or service again.

Beautiful hotel but sadly let's itself down
Beautiful hotel, the room was all to an exceptional standard. Sadly the service and food let it down. We were a group of 10. Most of the evening meals were good but the steak, which 2 of the party ordered was so tough it was a challenge to eat. When this was pointed out the waitress was not impressed. After that we were being rushed to finish.
In the morning we arrived at 8.30 for breakfast, the waitress in the morning was far more friendly, however, we waited over an hour for the food. The food was clearly locally sourced, sadly the bacon was over cooked and again a challenge to eat. The continental breakfast was not restocked and the orange juice and bread ran out.We heard other guests complaining as well about the breakfast arrangement. One had paid but mislaid the token and another just got fed up of waiting and left.
So dissapointing that this Beautiful place let's itself down.

Good hotel in an easily accessible location
I've stayed at the hotel previously, it's ideally situated and the staff are very accommodating. The room is comfortable and I would stay again. The only negative point was breakfast, this was the first time I'd had breakfast here and the service was very slow. I arrived at the restaurant at 8:35am, at 9:27am I was still waiting for my food. This was not ideal, given I was meant to leave at 9:30am. If breakfast starts at 8:30am, then all food should be ready to serve from that time.
