Panviman Chiang Mai Spa Resort

The hotel is beautiful, but it's built on a mountainside, so the buildings you need are spread out on a very steep road, so it's not easy to move around it. There are golf buggies that take you from place to place if you call them, but having to ask for a vehicle every time you want to go and eat or leave is quite annoying. The distances are walkable, but not if you have mobility issues. The pavements are also in far worse condition than the roads, so you end up walking on the roads and having to keep jumping out the way of the passing vehicles. Photos are attached of the view of the very steep road going up next to our balcony to show an example of the scale of the steepness. The location is remote. Apparently taxi apps like Grab and Bolt do not work here, although we did manage to quickly book a Bolt to take us here from Chiang Mai centre. A car and driver can be hired from the hotel for 2500 baht for 4 hours. I wouldn't recommend visiting if you don't have your own vehicle, as there is nothing nearby you can walk to. On check-in, the hotel said they offered room service, but there were no menus in the rooms. The room cleaning was slow if you are on a higher floor - on our 2 days, they didn't manage to visit all morning despite us leaving the "please clean room" sign on the door. I found out later that you can ring reception to ask your room to be prioritised. The restaurant is expensive compared to central Chiang Mai, and they recommend that you reserve a table every night you want to eat there, but the food was good. Service was a bit chaotic. On the night we arrived, at 5:30 pm, reception told us they had reserved a table for us. But when we went to the restaurant, that did not seem to be the case, and we were taken to an unreserved table in a loud and echoey room. I then had to go up and ask to order as no-one came, and then the order was missing items when it did arrive. Randomly on the grounds near the lobby, there is a parrot in a tiny cage compared to its size with no entertainment, hardly any plants, and barely anywhere to perch. It's really sad to see.

Very clean and good service, some staff not too good in English but nice. Get their whatsapp and communicate in texts, will be easier! Not a lot of food options. Very superb scenery and surrounding, will definitely come back again.

Scenery is superrrr! Have private pool for ourself as I booked the room with the pool. Location abit far out but is near to alot attraction like Tiger kingdom, ATV, Bungy jump etc. Non halal restaurant inside, quite hard to find halal food around this area.

Excellent from start to finish. Gorgeous views and staff who were always smiling. Grab is ok to go back to hotel but needed to pay a bit more for taxis to go from the hotel. Swimming pool was nice but very cold. Overall would definitely recommend for a carefree and memorable stay!

This is a fantastic place with amazing views, super friendly staff and great food quality. We got a little unlucky with our room not having any view at all. But still the overall vibe made up for it. The spa is spectacular as well. Highly recommended.
