Very hard to rate as it partly depends on one’s own criteria/requirements Positives included good sleep quality on comfortable bed in air conditioned room; quiet location; for those keen on eco/environment aspects the grounds are well tended in near jungle setting Negatives included the poor restaurant with doubtful hygiene for Western travellers and very disappointing food quality; hardly any English speaking staff; a washbasin/shower area that was functional but tired to the point of requiring an upgrade; unclear whether the hotel had a standby generator as a power cut hit; just one room key that doubled as needed to keep lighting/air con working so that if one left the room for a “meal” on return it would take time to cool again So, how others would rate this place depends on their criteria and requirements For this reviewer the overall rating is a very generous Average

A lovely place to stay and wished we could have stayed longer. The bungalows are spacious and a good distance away from each other for privacy and noise reduction. It's like staying in the jungle but with walls, there is so much greenery and even water running through the property. You are greeted with a drink and there are free local bananas to snack on (within reason). They employ Shan and Karen people which is absolutely fantastic. The breakfast buffet had lots of options and the fact there were two pools was perfect.

Wonderful staff made us feel welcome immediately upon our arrival. They met us with umbrellas, carried our luggage, offered a refreshing welcome lemongrass drink with a handcrafted flower design. The hotel prides itself on its ecotourism. The hotel grounds are stunning. The hotel has a peaceful feeling that connect one with nature. The rooms have balconies that allow you to enjoy the surrounding nature. The dinner we had was excellent and the service throughout was friendly. The hotel has 2 pools. The main pool is gorgeous and overlooks the neighboring rice paddy fields. It was nice to be able to order drinks at the bar next to the pool. The pool is luxuriously warm. It was great to see ladies playing the major roles at the hotel. We had great fun listening to the clonking of the many traditional bamboo water bells. We liked the bamboo water bells so much that we are inspired to try making some in our home country. We highly recommend this hotel.

Nice little place. Each room is a little stand alone cabin, clean and has all amenities. Nice infinity pool, all surrounded by rice paddies and gardens. Buffet breakfast was good. Smoking allowed on front and back decks of room. Not near anything so need a car. Staff were very nice.

I am all for Eco-Tourism but this place uses it as an excuse for being SUPER chintzy on everything. Their “we are so special” attitude translated to downright rudeness. We were in 2 suites, the highest priced bungalows available, but the bathrooms were abysmally old and decrepit. Water seeped out from the shower, and my polite request for 2 extra towels (with the cordial explanation as to why I needed them-to soak up the leaked water) was met with “You already HAVE towels!” (We had just ONE towel each.) Finally got them but I had to practically PLEAD on my knees. The flush button on our toilet didn’t work our entire stay, despite them claiming to have fixed it, twice. We had to leave the lid off the tank and flush it by lifting the flap each time; a very easy fix (just shorten the flap chain!); they just didn’t do it. The breakfast offerings were very few, and although they offered “made-to-order” omelets, it was like pulling teeth to get the cook to actually put what you wanted into them! Ask for tomatoes AND peppers and you get scolded! The Thai food breakfast offerings were not good at all either. We did not eat dinner at the restaurant so can’t comment on that. The grounds and pool areas are lovely (reason for two stars) but there are not enough chairs by the pool so never anywhere to sit. I usually would stay in town at Piya Guesthouse but I acquiesced to friends desire to stay here. Overall, the vibe of this place is very snooty; not at all a friendly atmosphere as you find in other accommodations in Thailand. The staff was just not nice! I would never recommend to stay here.

A large resort with cabins nestled amongst trees with streams running through it, it's too far from town, but the resort does provide a shuttle service leaving at 18:00, returning at 20:30. This isn't enough time but taxis seem thin on the ground, so choice is limited. The rooms are dated and need modernizing, there's an in room safe. The breakfast is mediocre at best, but a good coffee can be had in town. If staying in Mae Hong son again, I'd stay here for at least 2 night, if your schedule only allows for 1 night, stay closer to town.

Beautifull resort. Quiet and calm. Located on the edge of tropical forest. We had a villa with rice fields view which was amazing. Nice restaurant with good food and wine. Very good thai massage. You need a mosquito repelent at night.Highly recommended.

Lovely setting and some charming facilities but the service and furnishings needs attention. The rooms are large and clean; the bathroom is strange the shower bis shoulder height! Food is neither good nor bad. Service is not friendly and insufficient drinking water is provided. The pools are lovely but there is insufficient seating.
