Tyger Inn, Derby

A good hotel to stay in cnveniently situated in a positioned place with all local places to visit and a pub serving meals next door. Easy check in and ample parking. Place is a little dated and one or two signs of wear. Be ideal for mattresses to have a protective cover over them and not just a bed sheet.

Nice small rooms. Perfect for couples. Area is quiet and no noises.

Awful Room was untidy, So hot you couldnt sleep, reception didnt have no fans available when asked, room was dirty, smelly and very loud

Tired decor but quiet & convenient location Stopped here for an event in Derby. An ex-premier inn, it is a series of bungalows (strangely) so you don't have neighbours above/below. They've even left the purple colour scheme. Quiet and convenient location for Derby with lots of parking space and really nice pub on the doorstep (though it doesn't serve breakfast!). Clean room but somewhat tired decor & poor finishing. A proper chair for working at the desk would be better. For the price, cant really complain.

Poor service Was told could check in from 2pm. On arrival there were no staff anywhere, tried phoning the number and was told he was on the toilet and would be there in few minutes, I phoned back after 20 minutes and was told he was waiting for a bus! Had to wait 45 minutes until staff arrived, offered no reimbursement. The double room consisted of two single beds pushed together. Room wasn’t the best, didn’t smell very fresh, and thin walls. Wouldn’t recommend.

Online booking North Derby For £46 it is value for money. Comfy bed and pillows. Room 23 has all the basics. All working nothing broken except chair which I returned to reception immediately to avoid £50. charge for damages. Assured that I wont be charged. The lobby to the entrance there was a strong smell of tobacco smoke. We are non smokers. However the room was free of smoke The bathroom sliding door too heavy. Toilet handle requires cranking and squeaks. Haven't used shower yet. The two electric wall heaters switch themselves off before we would have preferred. Oil filled additional heater clicked several times cooling down and warming up. So had to switch off to avoid being woken up. No sound from next room if it was occupied. Secondary double glazing in addition to double glazed units was effective. However didnt stop the deep bass whoofer sound penetrating the room from what seemed from another room near the road. Reception was friendly and helpful. Room was ready 1 hour early. Reminder of online warning that smoking in the room would lose £50 deposit. Several people seen standing outside their rooms smoking. Suggest brush ***** at bottom of entrance door to room from lobby. No breakfast facilities. Bring own or try Mcdonalds because pub not open till 11am. Free parking. Nice location. Was able to park directly outside room. No obvious security. No reception but help can be called 24 hours. Leave key on table and close door to leave. Overall good. First time stay. Better than expected.
