Cabins of Mackinac & Lodge

My experience with this cabin rental was nothing short of a nightmare—first, I was accidentally granted access to someone else’s cabin and walked in on people sleeping, which was deeply upsetting. The first cabin reeked and was absolutely filthy, so I upgraded to their supposedly newest and largest one—but found nothing better: dusty, outdated furniture, cobweb-covered lamps, and a bathroom that looked like a failed DIY project. The fridge smelled awful, there were no towels provided, and the front desk staff seemed completely clueless and unhelpful. In short, from cleanliness to basic hospitality, the entire experience fell far below even the most minimal expectations—honest, factual, and entirely avoidable. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE PLEASE!

The cabin was very old, but OK. Some minor maintenance to the place would have been nice. However, the customer service at this business was by far the worst I have ever experienced at any business. I would not recommend these accommodations to anyone.

We had booked the honeymoon suite with a jacuzzi in the room because we needed time to get away and reconnect as a couple. When we arrived, the room that we reserved was unavailable. Instead, we were put in a two bedroom with a jacuzzi in the bathroom instead of in-room. We accepted the room because we would still have access to a private jacuzzi. When we began to fill the jacuzzi, water started pouring out from underneath the jacuzzi. We ended up not using it because we knew further use would damage the floor and we already noticed black mold growing in various places around the tub and dirt pouring out of the jets. We paid for something that was completely unavailable to us and dangerous to our health. We didn't report it at the time, because it was already late at night and just wanted to eat and go to sleep. We ordered pizza at a local pizza place and it took forever to arrive. The driver expressed difficulty in locating our cabin because the signs with the cabin numbers are small and dark colored and all of the exterior lights were burnt out on our cabin. What was supposed to be a romantic night turned into a colossal waste of time and money for us. This is unfortunate because the cabins are lovely but very poorly maintained.
