Super 8 by Wyndham Mackinaw City/Beachfront Area

We were there for an anniversary weekend stay. It was a pleasant stay here.

We had a great stay and enjoyed the indoor pool and beachfront. Anytime we needed anything the staff was helpful. I would definitely stay again.

Very deceiving from the outside. Looks nice but terrible interior of rooms. Stark flooring no carpet . Peeling wallpaper mismatched furniture. Balcony not able to use. Plywood floor, bare wood. Not 4 x 12 as mentioned on website. Dinky tv maybe 23 inch . Aged building because you here creeking from second floor. Noisily with people walking overhead. Table in room moulding coming off

For a motel, I feel like this is probably a pretty average stay. With the add-on of being right on the beach, which is the only real reason to choose them. I've never stayed in a Super 8 before, and would not have chosen them, but we were traveling with a group and they thought they found a great deal here. You kind of get what you pay for with motels. Aside from being directly on the beach, and having a pool - the only real positive thing I feel like I can say is there weren't bedbugs. The beds were hard, sheets stained, dead bugs in the bathroom, mildew in the shower. The pool area smelled like dirty diapers - though that didn't stop the kids from wanting to swim lol. The lady at the front desk told us at check-in that the there are wristbands you get to go use the waterpark at another hotel down the road, but then didn't give them to our group and seemed really weird about letting us get them - which we never succeeded in doing. We were traveling with a scout group and she told several different parents different things about how that privilege would work - and always seemed like she was trying to talk us out of going there. All told - if you just needs a place to sleep and aren't too picky, this could do. But I would not choose them again myself...

I thought I was calling the number for the Rainbow Motel. The person I spoke to pretended to be a clerk at the Rainbow but LIED and said they were full. This person directed me to a vacancy at Super8 Beachfront instead. The blanket on the bed was disgustingly dirty. It looked like it had not been washed in a long time, so I took it off. The next morning, I saw that the Rainbow Motel's parking lot was not full, so I checked for vacancies. They had some vacancies the day before and that day, so I switched motels. The owner of Super8 Beachfront owns ALL of the motels along the waterfront except the Rainbow Motel and Beachcombers Motel. So, if you want a clean room owned by honest proprietors and support independent business owners, call the Rainbow Motel or Beachcombers Motel DIRECT! (Rainbow's ph. # is 231.436.5518). Furthermore, my family and I had stayed at one of the other motels run by the same "chain owner" last summer. It was a horrible experience. The rooms were old, musty, run-down, with dirty showers, and filthy window screens. I had made the huge mistake of paying for the room before I looked at it. When I saw how it looked and smelled, I asked for my money back, but they refused. Don't let this happen to you! Do not support dishonest slum motel landlords!
