Blue Water Beachfront Hotel & Waterpark

The rooms are very comfortable and clean, the hotel renovation turned out very nice, the staff is friendly, my friends and I stayed at the hotel this weekend and the view that the hotel has is beautiful. I would come back to this place. I loved it.

It was a nice experience. Hotel is not big but that makes it better because the staff get to know you and is actually a personalized service. We went for the 4th of july holidays, we had a great view of the lake and the fireworks! Is a good place to stay! THANKS to the manager who was always taking care of any need we had and very good service ! :)

Was a good experience. The front desk was always efficient and kind. She also recommended good places to eat and give us a discount in some of them. The price for our room was ok for me, just in front the beach! I just love the view. My friends and me had an amazing experience.

First of all, this is now called Blue Water Beachfront Hotel. I made my reservation through AAA in early June and received an email confirmation under the name Great Mackinaw Beachfront Hotel. We had quite a bit of trouble finding the establishment due to the address being 907, not 909, and the name being different. I was told the place had been sold about a month before. It seems like someone should have informed me that it had a new name. I would not call this place a "hotel". The doors open to the outside and there are really no amenities you would expect from a hotel. This is a motel. They say they have a pool or "waterpark", but I was told it was being renovated and was not open. Not a problem, as the beach is right behind the motel. There is no elevator. We were on the third floor, in room 405. They seem to be in the midst of renovations. Our room wasn't too bad. It was fairly clean, although the floor in the bathroom under the vanity is discolored, as is the base of the bathtub on the outside. There was NO SMOKE ALARM in the room. A picture over one of the beds was missing. The fridge is quite small, and we suspected it might not be sufficiently cold to keep food from spoiling. There is no microwave. A power wash of all the siding on the building, including inside the stairways, would greatly improve its appearance. When I checked in, I was first given one key for the room (for 4 adults). I asked if there was another key, and they then gave me two different keys and took back the one they had given me. After we hauled all our stuff up the two flights of stairs, we found that neither of the keys worked. I went back to the office and they gave me back the first key they had given me and took back the other two. I was told the locks had just been changed. Also, I wasn't given the info for signing on to their wifi until I again went back to the office to ask for it. There is one vending machine near one end of the place, and it didn't have any prices posted. Pressing a button didn't display the price. I put $3 into the machine and pressed one button for water. Nothing happened and there was no indication it was sold out. I tried another water button. Again, nothing happened. I tried the third water button and got a bottle, and received $1.25 back. Okay, so it cost $1.75. I put in $1.75 but could not get it to dispense another bottle. The vending machine seems quite old. One of the beds in this room has some type of issue. If you sit on the foot of the bed, the head of the bed would lift up, so apparently the frame is broken or something. The fan in the bathroom didn't work at all. There is new wood on the walls in the whole room, including the bathroom. The wood is not sealed in any way, so without ventilation in the bathroom, it's likely to mold and mildew. The room had a nice door out to a balcony with 3 plastic chairs and a table on it. There was a big spider web at one end of the balcony. W
