Lilac Tree Suites

I brought my mom to the island for the first time for Mother's Day. I've always wanted to stay at The Lilac Tree and thought this was the perfect opportunity. I booked a 2 Queen Island View room and it did not disappoint! We had a view of Market Street and could even see The Grand through the trees (they didn't all have leaves yet). The room was gorgeous and HUGE! It includes a living room area with a wet bar, and the bedroom area is quite large. It was perfect for my mom and me since we have different sleep schedules typically, and we weren't disturbing each other. I loved the Pink Pony bath products, I wish I could buy them at the store! I also loved that Poppins, Little Luxuries, and the Island Bookstore were steps away from the elevator. These are some of my favorite stores, and I spent a lot of time at all of them, thanks to the proximity. The staff was very accommodating and friendly, and I never heard my neighbors. In fact, I didn't think anyone was in the room next to us until I ran into our neighbor while dropping off some shopping! For the price, room size, and amenities, I think The Lilac Tree is an amazing value. I will absolutely be back, and I can't wait to book a balcony room!

Excellent hotel in the downtown area. The room was quiet and decorated beautifully. The staff was attentive and helpful. Definitely enjoyed my stay there! My only suggestion would be to add black out curtains. The shutters let in way too much light at night.

Super, sparkling clean rooms. Lobby and hallways were always clean as well. Very comfortable in every way. Staff was friendly and helpful. Great views from the balcony, conveniently located to everything we wanted to do. Highly recommend.

Quite honestly it was the lowest priced room for a family of 4 with two queen beds. I was also happy that I was getting a suite for a place to sit down together. Other places that were higher in price were single rooms. I had stayed there in the past and have always been happy there. Location is in the middle of the activities. If you feel the need for a pool or hot tub you’re allowed to use the Chippewa hotels since it’s owned by the same company. Their pool snd hot tub is right on the water giving quite the view. When I arrived I discovered that they upgraded my room location to a street view and the suite included a sofa that also could be used as a hida bed. Shortly after we arrived we received a evening check in that included dessert cookies and milks which was a nice added touch. We love the Lilac and this is the first review I have ever given a place that I stayed at.

Charming, peaceful stay in the middle of all happenings! Beautiful water views and sunrises, gorgeously decorated and very spacious rooms, friendly staff, complimentary coffee and water, everything was just stunning. And the best fudge at the island right in front of the hotel, along with all bike rental companies. Ferry is 3 minute walk. Just super convenient and relaxed stay. I wish I was there for more than one night, but will definitely be back!

This was our first trip to Mackinac Island. After searching through reviews for hotels, we ultimately decided on Lilac Tree and the result was everything we hoped for. Balcony suite allowed us to watch activity on Main Street and location made it easy to come and go for meals, shopping, and activities. Front desk staff, especially Renee and Ntombia were always smiling and available to answer questions or provide information. Kitchen area with microwave, fridge, and Keurig along with coffee pods, mugs, and glasses made mornings on the balcony a pleasant start to each day. As others have mentioned, cookies and milk in the evenings was a great touch. Highly recommend for a stay on Mackinac.
