L76 Rickardos Holiday Lets

We stayed in the Chalet G10 at Mablethorpe. The chalet was nice and I was happy with the stay. However, I had a message the day I booked letting me know I needed to pay for linen and a deposit. There were no instructions on how to pay this so I assumed this would follow. It did not. I got a phone call at check in time saying we wont get the code if we didnt send the money. I then send 115 straight away which was a shock for what was a cheap night away. There was only two of us we didnt use any towels or the other bedroom so 15 was a lot considering this (we did specify there was only 2 of us). She then said we will be charged for the electric we use and again we did not realise this (yet to know how much we will be charged, we only used 73p worth). This affected our stay as we were then concerned about what we did while we was there due to how much money we had spent already on one night away. I am still waiting two weeks later after many messages and excuses for the 100 back. Would recommend for the stay as we did like it and it was a nice and clean place, but the price it says is not how much it will cost and this is what I am unhappy about as we would have spent a bit more to go somewhere better!

Avoid at all costs! Made 3 bookings this evening (Paid £100-200 more for free cancellation until 14th july) For an august family holiday. The owner called me at 10pm after i had booked the third property totalling £1900 requesting £100 deposit per booking so £300 to be paid ASAP. Clearly couldnt wait till the morning, maybe needs to money.. How do I know this isn't fraud? How is this secure payment? Why am I paying something just because you have asked me too? Some woman in the background telling him what to say. All a little bit dodgy if you ask me. Nowhere does it state that this needs to be paid ASAP it clearly states 14 days before your trip (see photo) he said it wasn't about the money and that he didn't want me to have the free cancellation rooms as it block out his diary for me to then to potentially cancel. It's simple don't advertise it then? He was then very cocky over text message (please see attached) he is unprofessional, has no customer service and is trying to con people for an early pay day. There's a reason why these properties are still available for a sought after location and not many reviews. I cancelled all 3 bookings. Do not book with this company.

If you want to go somewhere, where additional charges are added to the original price (more than double) want somewhere that hide these charges until you’ve paid for it then don’t give a refund… want awful customer service, holding your deposit back for almost 3 week and have zero correspondence, then when you finally get to speak to someone you get a mouthful for being annoyed and being made to feel like a burden for ruining there Friday night! Then Ricky is your guy!!

Recently stayed at a caravan on Sunnydale park in Saltfleet, Lincolnshire with my family. Upon arrival there was no current gas safety check which is first and foremost extremely dangerous and also prevented us being able to purchase passes to use the amenities on site resulting in very upset and dissapointed children unable to use the swimming pool/club house etc. No offer of even a partial reimbursement for the upset and inconvenience this caused, only an offer of another stay at a discounted rate which understandably isn't something we wish to do again. Just be careful when booking with this company and double check all health and safety regulations are in place. I have also reported this failure to the local Council in the hope that this doesn't happen to any other families.
