Como Maalifushi

Just returned from a friends trip to Como Maalifushi and it was perfect from beginning to end. This was my first seaplane ride and it was very smooth. I didn't even feel the take-off, and seeing all the atolls below added to the vacation's uniqueness. The Manta Ray lounge in Male was nice, quiet and comfortable - great place to re-set after long day of travel. The Como staff at the airport had everything covered and it was a service preview of the resort. The resort matches all photos. Secluded, boutique, and well maintained. The staff quickly gets to know your food & beverage preferences as everyone pays attention to the details. You can bike or walk to everything. I preferred the walk as it allowed you to hear the birds ad enjoy being under the lush tree canopy. Also - there were NO bugs! Seriously... how is that possible? Como has found a way! Our only downside was weather... it was stormy for a couple days, but it just led to more spa treatments which is never a bad thing. Speaking of the spa - Kadek is amazing! Also enjoyed one of the morning yoga classes which was a great way to start the day. Breakfast is another upside. There is a buffet, but you can also choose off the menu. Ricotta pancakes were my fav. I suggest packing water socks / shoes as there is coral in the water and broken coral / shell pieces on the main beach. Side beaches offer better water access in my opinion. Opted to paddle board instead of snorkel - amazing experience during one of the calmer days. If you are looking to relax, spa, sleep & repeat this is your destination.

We have a great time at this resort during our vacation here, especially care and perfect service from the side of Algesh - everytime with smile, in a good mood, helpfull and ready zo meet our requirements outside of his role. Big thanks also to Sharippe our buggy man for everythink we need.

Everything at Como Maalifushi is amazing and it is truly a destination to unwind and relax. From the moment we stepped foot into the Maldives, we were looked after and treated like royalty! We didn’t have to deal with luggage and found them in our villa when we arrived at Como (this is after we took a seaplane and speed boat to the island). We were pleasantly greeted by our butler Zayan and offered cold towels, fresh coconut water and taken straight to our amazing Water Suite. The day we arrived at Como was Valentine’s Day and Como made special arrangements (decorations, live music and dinner) for guests to make the night even more special! I got a beautiful red rose and a hand made gift which I will treasure! Como Maalifushi really goes above and beyond to make sure every guest is looked after. Zayan made sure our stay was enjoyable, he would find us each day to make sure we were happy and help us organise activities if we wanted to. All the staff at Como are so lovely and greet you with a genuine smile! We thoroughly enjoyed our spa treatment (a relaxing 1 hour massage) that we went back for a second treatment on our fourth day. The ladies at the spa are amazing and we left the treatment feeling reborn. We were even offered to use the steam room and sauna as a couple, which is normally seperate between ladies and men but the lovely lady at the spa offered us one to share with my husband. One of the activities we chose was a dolphin cruise which again exceeded our expectations. There was only 1 other couple who joined us on a large boat which felt so private and we got to see hundreds if not thousands of dolphins “super pod of dolphins”. We loved the candle lit dinner by the beach which again was very private and intimate. Zayan also organised a surprise cake to our villa for my birthday, this was such a lovely and thoughtful gesture again another example of the service you get at Como. On our last day our seaplane back to Male was scheduled for 10am but given we weren’t in a hurry for an international flight, Zayan was able to make a few phone calls and move our flight to later in the day at 3:45pm so we could enjoy most of the day at Como and our villa was also available until 2pm. We greatly appreciated this. Zayan also got in contact with the hotel we planned to spend the last night in Male so that they would meet us at the airport terminal when we arrived. Zayan even recommended a lovely Indian restaurant in Male for our last night which was very thoughtful and appreciated. After we checked out Zayan joined us at the jetty where we had a lovely chat and he walked us to the speed boat! All the staff are truly amazing and they all waved goodbye to us until the boat was no where in sight! Of all places we have visited around the world, Como Maalifushi really have topped the list and we are already planning to go back with our 2 children.

We travelled at the end of January for our champagne supernova break at Como resort and we were truly blown away by the team who exceeded all of our expectations. Peter and his team are outstanding and our every need was superbly catered for and we can’t wait to return. A special mention to the exec chef Surama ( apologises if our spelling is a little off ) who adapted all of his outstanding dishes to cater for my need for gluten free. Nothing was too much trouble and the egg hooper breakfasts and the ceviche and curry fish caught on our sunset fishing trip were truly memorable. Pali concocted the most wonderful cocktails for us as we enjoyed the sunset slide away and butler Naail was always on hand to help us plan our days. Zulaal introduced us to so many dishes at breakfast with his little tasters and Jana looked after us at our morning snorkels before breakfast. Finally Shakeeb and his dive team went above and beyond and we have the memories to look back on. The wonder wall of the house reef has to be seen to be believe.

We are just back after 14 days at Como Maalefushi end of January 2025. This was the 7th trip to the Maldives. We have previously stayed at: Conrad Rangali, Constance Moofushi/Constance Halaveli, Vakkuru, Baros, and Atmosphere Kanifushi. I say this to put the following review into context. When my wife and I discuss where to go, we also consider if we should go back to one of the previous ones. This means that whatever we choose will be compared with one of the aforementioned places. Overall impression: I would say that Maalefushi deserves it's 5 stars. The Island is beautiful and generally there is what you would expect from a 5 star hotel. Rooms: We had the "over water suite" (#312). This was probably the best room we've ever had on the Maldives; spacious, big functional bathroom, an amazing outdoor area overlooking the water. And for once the outdoor area had a pool where you could actually swim (I guess something like 8x3 meter). Overwater villas can get a bit noisy when the tide comes in (at night), but here it was not a big problem. The villa was very private, was an "end-villa", had neighbors to one side but not to the other. We used the two bicycles belonging to the villa everyday. Cleaning was great and there was always enough bottled water. Food: Well.... here my wife and I disagrees (!!). We were on half board and the way it works is that you chose your dinner from a menu that changes slightly every second day (there are also some "themes" 3 times pr week - barbecue, Lobster evening or Indonesian/Maledivan evening. They come at an additional cost, but we didn't try them). I could always find myself something on the normal menu, but it was a bit harder for my wife. And of course after 14 days, you feel that you have tried most of the options and it gets more tricky. They did offer us to choose from the room seervice menu the last days, which was good. I found the food was amazing. Sometimes on the Maldives meat dishes can be a bit of a challenge, but here the meat was amazing; everything from the Wagyu meet in the carpaccio (probably the best carpaccio I've ever had), to the veal and beef steaks. Most favourite dish: Lamb Biriyani. Amazing. The selection at the breakfast buffet with bread, juices and fruits is rather limited compared to other hotels. You can also order from a menu where the breakfast dishes are really good (all kind of egg dishes, nasi goreng, avocado toasts etc.) but of course you don't have the option of browsing through a big buffet to be inspired. There is also a Japanese restaurant (called Tai). We had read about it and wanted to try it, but we were not impressed. The food was OK, but the portiones were small and we were not full when we left. We had lunch only one day. That was very delicious (salat, french fries). Service: There is a "can-do" approach to service, so whatever we asked for, happened. When we had special wishes to the breakfast they made it, if they could or served it the following day (for e
