Was here with My Wife, Gill and Our Springer Spaniel, Ruby, superb stay, a fun filled musical extravaganza, the Staff mostly Youthful, well it was My 66th Birthday, so they all looked Youthful to Me, point is they were brilliant, and I include the Ladies getting the Rooms ready, thank You all for a great Birthday, as Arnie is always saying, " I'll be back".

The staff were excellent, and looked after our party who were here to play bridge. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Evening meal was also good and presented to a high standard. The front of house of this hotel was to a high standard. Bed was clean and comfortable which led to a good nights sleep. However behind the scenes, this hotel is desperately in need of renovation. The bedroom was what I would describe as ‘tired’ and in need of redecoration. The bathroom requires replacing, with a new suite, although the shower had good pressure and worked well. Many thanks for a good visit.

We stayed for one night when the kite festival was on. We could not park at the hotel even their second car park was full although they did refund us the money we paid for parking. I think the girl on reception was overwhelmed and not very helpful. We were given a room at the back of the hotel and even though I was using oxygen at the check in she did not warn us that to get to the room we had to go up stairs along a long corridor past the swimming pool and then back down the stairs. If I hadn’t had my husband with me to carry the oxygen up and down the stairs I would’ve have even attempted it. She did not give us any information on the breakfast and there was no information in the room. Luckily when we went back to reception the lad that we saw managed to change our room to one that you could get to via the lift. We were not told that the lift went down to the breakfast room and struggled down the stairs found out once down there and got the lift back to our room afterwards. The staff were very friendly even though they were very busy and the breakfast was excellent. We would go again but would ring the hotel to get a room closer to the lift. More information needs putting in the room about the facilities eg where to go for breakfast if you have use of the pool had we not walked passed the pool I wouldn’t have known it was there. Also some information on the spar facility would be helpful. If going on an event weekend and have mobility issues try and get there early the parking gets very busy

Had a two night stay here, my sister and family were next door at the Dalmeny but it was full so I stayed here, the staff are excellent, room was clean, breakfast good plenty of choice, in the evening singer on both nights I think bar prices were good and reasonable. I booked a single room and had I thought would have booked a walk in shower, am limited mobility wise because of arthritis, there are a lot of steps, there is a ramp access, plus the lift is only at one side of hotel. Was a bit of a trek getting to my room. I would book again but would need a room that was easier to get to. The seafront location is good

Brilliant location, good food and rooms and most staff were OK. But, the reason I chose this hotel was because I wanted to book a massage/facial, so was disappointed when there no leaflets in the room to explain how to. Luckily a fellow traveller found a leaflet (tucked away by the toilets in reception if you are looking) and booked it - can't recommend the experience enough. It would make me want to go back for that alone! Surprised that somewhere that advertises itself as a spa hotel doesn't make it easier to book the slot. Leaflets in the room would be ideal. Oh, and signs on the wall pointing to the stairs and lifts would save guests wandering round like lost souls. 2 different people over the 4 nights asked me how to get to reception! Simple things that would have made the experience so much better

Really disappointed with the overall stay. The whole place is in need of some upgrading, although the staff were all wonderful. Our room had plenty of storage space, but the bathroom left much to be desired - chipped paintwork and toilet seat, dripping tap [though we couldn't hear it from the bedroom, thankfully], and a paper bath mat! We had to use one of the hand towels to stand on. Breakfast buffet was ok, though the scrambled eggs were quite runny and there were no vegetarian sausages. My husband said the first day's meat sausages were very good, but the next day they were a totally different type. The toaster - I hesitate to use the word - I put my bread through 6 times, I turned the settings up, but it was still barely warmed through. I did use the pool a couple of times - it was a fair size but, again, rather run down with very slippery tiles between there and the changing rooms. Wouldn't stay again, sadly.
