The Threshing Barn at Penrhos Court

Peace and quiet A peaceful place and a good location for a few days away.

Penrhos Court, Lodge 7 and the Pythons Arms This was my second time to Penrhos and this is rapidly becoming one of my favourite places to stay. The level of finish in the accommodation is exceptional and the attention to detail such as board games, items in the kitchen and basic supplies such as milk and butter are lovely touches. There is loads of space in Lodge 7 and it is my favourite lodge out of the 2 I’ve stayed in so far. Friday night we went for a meal in the cattle shed. I had my 2 nephews in tow (7 & 9) which were greeted personally by the chef. He came and asked the boys what they would like to eat which was a really lovely touch. Keeping the kids happy makes a nice meal for the adults. Food as always was fresh and really tasty and a delight to look at. Finally on Saturday we ventured to the new on-site pub. The pub was something I was really looking forward to experiencing and it far exceeded expectations. Warm, cosy, great selection of drinks including real ales. It has a log fire, pool table and dart board. We had a fantastic after/evening in there. Mark & Laura are fantastic hosts and all of the staff couldn’t be more welcoming. A very special place that’s set in a lovely part of the country.

Rustic luxury Wonderful old buildings in a pretty setting. The apartments are beautifully furnished in style. The restaurant & bar are great to have, adding to the overall experience.

The communication is absolutely dreadful. Whether that is by phone or email. The loose dogs in the coutyard are off putting. I made enquiries before the booking that were not answered. When I had an issue with the booking I had one short response and then no more. The phone was not answered or messages returned.

This is the perfect place to relax in beautiful surroundings with the added advantage of the cafe/restaurant and Python's Arms Pub on site. The accommodation is to a very high standard and the bed was super comfy. The welcome tray of milk, cheese, crackers, chutney and butter was much appreciated and there was also ample supplies of coffee, tea and sugar. All accommodation seems to have a fridge and dishwasher and the two bedroom house also has a freezer. The layout of the units on two or three floors has been very well done and means that you can appreciate the magnificent views over Kington from the first floor sitting rooms. We really didn't want to leave!

Penrhos Court is a hidden gem! The accommodation is clean, new and very tastefully done. The hosts went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Yummy food in the cattle shed was an added bonus. We’d highly recommend this place!!
