This is a lovely hotel in the heart of the New Forest. It's a stone's throw away from the town centre of Lyndhurst. The staff was very nice and helpful, and the rooms were comfy. Food was really good. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting this part of England. Thank you for the lovely stay.

We booked in for 3 nights room only basis whilst have g a short break in thee New Forest. This hotel is ideally situated being a short walk into Lyndhust. Due to its position you just have to cross the road and you are in the Forest area, so for walking and cycling it is a great base. Cycles can be hired in town. On arrival we were assisted to our room (16) which was up two flights of very steep steps (people with mobility issues beware. The room was large spotlessly clean and well appointed. Staff very polite and welcoming. Although we did not book to eat in the hotel, the breakfast looked very good. The hotel also has a small bar and plenty of seating outside. Whilst we visited the weather was very hot as were the bedrooms, although a fan was provided. We would recommend this hotel and may return.

Had a lovely weekend at Ormonde House in Lyndhurst. The location’s perfect—right on the edge of the New Forest. Our room was clean, spacious, and really comfy. Peaceful at night too, which made for a great sleep. The staff were warm and welcoming—genuinely helpful without being over the top. It all felt very relaxed and easy. Food was excellent—freshly cooked breakfasts and a really tasty dinner. You can tell they care about quality. Would happily stay again—ideal for a quiet New Forest getaway.

Wir waren im Rahmen einer durch einem Reiseveranstalter gebuchten Rundreise durch Südengland in diesem Hotel. Wir hatten ein Zimmer im ersten Stock, das sehr dunkel war, da sich das einzige Fenster nicht im Hauptraum, sondern in einer Art Nebenraum, welches zum Badezimmer führte, befand. Daher war das Zimmer immer dunkel und roch muffig - zumal man das Fenster nicht unbeaufsichtigt offen stehen lassen konnte, da es zur Feuerleiter und Lüftung zeigte. Darüber hinaus ist das Hotel leider sehr hellhörig, so dass man die Gespräche / Schnarchen der Nachbarn recht deutlich wahrnehmen konnte. Die Treppe in den ersten Stock war eine Herausforderung, da die Treppenstufen nicht tief genug waren und sie sehr steil ist. Das Personal war war nett und freundlich. Die Einrichtung des Frühstücksraumes war etwas in die Jahre gekommen und mitunter reparaturbedürftig (gebrochene Stuhllehne). Das Frühstück musste man jeweils am Vorabend bestellen - man hatte hier die Auswahl zwischen ein paar Gerichten, die dann morgen frisch zubereitet wurden und auch gut waren.

We stayed at Ormonde House Hotel over the weekend and had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and made our stay feel special. Each morning, we enjoyed a delicious hot cooked breakfast. While we had to place our breakfast orders the night before, this wasn’t an issue for us at all. One evening, we dined at the hotel and were absolutely blown away by the food—the curry, in particular, was outstanding. It was perfectly spiced and easily one of the best we’ve ever had. Our room was clean, well-equipped, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. A big thank you to everyone at Ormonde House for making our visit so pleasant—we’re already looking forward to returning!

A lovely hotel. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We had an excellent dinner, we chose to have Nepalese food but the menu had lots of other choices too. The room we had was very comfortable and spacious. We will certainly come again when in this area.

Great location, close to town centre and walking path into the forest across the hotel. Free parking available at the hotel Check in was quick and easy. Staff very nice and friendly. Room – was a nice size, creaky floor boards, traffic noise could keep you up if you open the windows. Room was very warm even with the heating off. No noise installation and you can hear your neighbours. breakfast – You have to order the day before and say which breakfast sitting you would like. You also have to state which hot drinks you want, which seemed unusual. No cereals, fruit or yogurts available. Just a cooked breakfast. We had the full English breakfast which was on the small side but adequate. We had an evening meal at the hotel. Again you had to book your dinner sitting and order your meal at least an hour before. Food was quite good. Overall, adequate for 1 night.

Just returned from a wonderful stay at the Ormonde House Hotel in the New Forest. Such a relaxing place, perfectly located just a short walk from Lyndhurst centre. The hotel has a lovely, homely feel—family-run with a genuinely warm welcome. The staff couldn’t do enough for us. Breakfast was excellent, and if you’re staying for dinner, don’t miss the Gurkha Curry—absolutely packed with flavour and a real highlight of our trip. We will definitely be returning.
