Food and service was fine but a large 250ml of pinot. Totally overpriced. I certainly would advise customers to check the prices.

This is beautiful country pub with lovely gardens. The disappointment is that the food is not up to the standards of the environment. Definitely quantity over quality. One of our party ordered the filo pastry pie which was overcooked, served with an over powering sauce and vast numbers of roast potatoes - frankly it looked completely off putting and she ate approximately 25% of it. Other offerings were bland and ungarnished. The environment is wonderful but I will containing my visits to a drink and a packet of crisps.

Absolute gem, We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night break, the staff were lovely and friendly and very helpful. I enjoyed the singing chef we could hear from our room near the kitchen. Our room was very nice with views over the little green opposite where we could see the ponies grazing and the bed was comfortable. We ate lunch on arrival and had dinner both evenings and it was all very nice, the breakfast was very good with lots of choices. There was a lovely garden outside which we enjoyed a beer or two in. In all we had a lovely relaxing break and are looking forward to our stay at one of their other pubs The New Forrest inn next month. I will be returning here though.

We are very well acquainted with the pub but haven't eaten there for a while until last night. We were very disappointed. One of our favorites in days past was the Sizzling vegetable fajitas. It was a real treat brought out on a sizzling platter with lots of peppers and onions etc. Not last night. It was basically a dish of sweetcorn and tired mushrooms with just a few slivers of green pepper and it wasn't sizzling. Frankly at £19.50 i don't know how they had the nerve to bring it out

Lovely position overlooking the small green, with horses and foals, stocks and central tree.
Our room was over the bar and we could hear conversation until about 10.30. Breakfast was not available until 8.30 which delayed us but cooked meal was good. Clean and comfrtabke room.

Really lovely friendly helpful staff and great breakfast. Comfy bed, big room, good shower, everything we needed. Chatty locals at the bar! Beautiful location we just didn’t have long enough to make the most of it. Another time…

I will definitely stay again. The staff were friendly. 4 handpumps of real ale, and the food was excellent, and decent size portions.
