I visited with my family and we stayed in the Cobb suite & really enjoyed our stay. Comfortable bed & sofa, powerful shower & quality toiletries. I loved the fact the kitchen was outside the room, so we could help ourself to filtered water and use the toaster. Lovely breakfast hamper delivered to the door every morning. Surprisingly peaceful considering we were next to the road. Amazing location next to the park and a 5-10 minute stroll to the beach. Friendly owners and we were able to store our luggage. Also a lovely tapas restaurant next door & a Tesco across the street. Our evening stroll along the seafront also resulted in a wonderful display from Reggie the dolphin! Definitely recommend and we loved our stay so much we’ve booked again for next year. Thank you Lyme 1 Hotel.

We had a wonderful three night stay at the Lyme 1 Hotel. The room (#7) was open, airy, lots of natural light, and with the windows open, the cool sea breezes came in along with the sounds of town, mostly that of the gulls arguing amongst each other. The bed as comfy, and the bathroom old and quaint, but everything was clean and worked well. Nice touches were the welcoming treats and bottled water. We ordered the room-service breakfast every morning, and at 0830 sharp a basket appeared at our door, with fresh food and still-warm croissants. Access to down is a quick walk down the hill on the main street towards pubs and restaurants, or, a slower wander down the trail to the seaside with its views and numerous places to sit and rest along the way.. Both nice. When we return to Lyme Regis we'll stay here again.

It was a great location and very relaxed to have the breakfast hamper left outside the room each morning, with the kitchen available to get toast /butter/ preserves, wine glasses etc and refill water bottles and fresh milk. Though no savoury option or newspaper as on website and only melon and grapes in the fruit jar . Nice to have a Lindt choc left on the bed but not sure that is a local sweet treat as also advertised on the website . Easy communication with staff via txt even though the property is unmanned. We were in room 2 so was great as next to the kitchen and had a little court yard outside the room to use .. maybe if you were on the top floor not so easy to go get your toast and preserves .. we did ask for extra pillows and towels via txt which were brought promptly by a very friendly staff member . Maybe the shower head and shower door could do with a little more TLC and the floor lamp a little dusty on the cable. We would recommend and stay again but looking through the reviews on here , saddened to see the response to the less favourable reviews from the owner as isn’t it all about learning and improving from people’s responses if valid ?

Delightful
It was just wonderful. Very quirky and original hotel. Beautiful room and bathroom, French doors from bathroom out to terrace with no views but lovely pots of flowers and little table and chairs.
Order continental breakfast the night before and it arrives in a hamper outside your door at 08.3 warm croissant/ an au chocolate, muesli and fruit. Tea and coffee in room kitchen downstairs to make yourself toast if you wish to.
I loved it.
Only downside, no parking. NCP down Broad Street, best £12.95 24hrs with NCP app.

On the face of it this hotel looked lovely, a boutique hotel with every room slightly different from the usual utilitarian Premier Inns. However, it did let itself down in a few ways. There is a key code to get in, no reception and email instructions about your keys. So, on the whole, good for a single night stay. However, if you are considering longer, read on ............ This is the first ''hotel'' I have stayed in where your room was not made up each day. Staying away a lot for business, this is something you expect, when it doesn't happen it leaves you disappointed. You have to read the room information where it will tell you if you want your room made up, you need to ask. Obviously, staying for one night, it isn't an issue. Secondly, the breakfast is debatable, yes, a nice touch in a hamper, but locally sourced sweet AND SAVOURY it was not. We asked for our choices and did not expect to have to literally order x2 of everything as ''we'' should have intimated we were a couple that would both like breakfast, as I said debateable. There is no newspaper either. Also, you need to make coffee in the Nespresso machine. All contact is through email and there is no area for a reception or guest lounge. Oh, and the fan in the bathroom didn't work which left the bathroom a bit musty and the grout in the shower showed this up. As I say, for one night, great, but any more than one night, I would consider your choice a bit more carefully, or make sure you ask for the things you want in a hotel.

Very Disappointing! Not for us Would not return What I disliked immensely was that on my return home I received an email from the proprietor asking me if there were any problems, could they be discussed before posting any review ! So how can this be an unbiased review if I have to check it first with the proprietor. It’s almost as if he is pre-empting complaints. Our room was very tired and in need of a refurbishment. Cleaning could have been to a higher standard. Cups were left dirty from previous day The only table you could eat breakfast from was beside the toilet/Bathroom door which could only be closed from the inside. Bottom line - overpriced.

We had stayed at Lyme 1 Hotel before, and it really has a great location for exploring the town. The rooms are beautifully furnished and beds very comfortable, with lovely linen. The thing we were disappointed with were the 'locally sourced sweet and savoury goodies' for breakfast. There was nothing savoury on offer, and the breakfast had to be ordered the night before by text, which was not straight forward. The fruit consisted of a few cubes of melon and 4 grapes for 2 of us! I am not sure what was locally sourced as most of the breakfast was sourced from Lidl, which is fine, but should not be classed as locally sourced. There was also no newspaper offered as per the website. Also, please be aware instruction emails landed in my junk email, so we missed the instruction to get into the property, as there are no staff onsite (I believe the owner lives next door). There is also no cleaning of rooms, making of beds etc unless requested and no personal contact, and the limited contact we did receive was very abrupt and curt. That said, a beautiful building and lovely rooms, if you can get past a disappointing breakfast and lack of service.

Great location, superb room, immaculately clean and a fab breakfast hamper. Loved it. Lovely addition of the terrace too which was fab for breakfast in the sun.
