We were given a warm welcome once the guy behind the bar had stopped moaning to a colleague!! Then we waited ages for the drinks, we were shown to a table that was so small as it was squeezed in between two others that my friend and I were basically rubbing elbows when we ate!! The other people on these were literally the same!! I didn’t ask to move as the place was packed! The food was ok nothing special

We stayed in the top room, which is very spacious and comfortable and has spectacular views. It's a bit of a climb, but definitely worth it. Friendly staff, great service and excellent food for both dinner and breakfast, which you can eat on the sunny terrace overlooking the sea. A perfect base from which to explore the delights of Lyme Regis.

We have stayed here before and the staff are so friendly and location is perfect. Breakfast is so tasty and such good produce. However we did have a few issues with the room on this occasion so I can't give a 5 Star review, but the Manager dealt with this in a professional and speedy manner so I would have no problem staying there again.

Fantastic food, great service and tables offering stunning views over Lyme Bay. We went for my wife’s birthday and they were thoughtful enough to leave flowers and sing happy birthday. Some interesting vegan options on the menu that the restaurant had clearly given some thought to. Will definitely be making a return visit.

We stayed from 9th - 11th, the weather was glorious and our view from Room 4, 'Guncliff' was spectacular. Both nights we watched a fabulous 'buck' moon rise over the still water, before sinking into bed. Our stay was worth it just for those experiences. It seems almost churlish to speak of negatives - but as many other guests will neither have the spectacular moon, nor necessarily the view from our room, I will be straight, and say our stay was a mixture of delightful and not at all good. Firstly, I cannot really fault the staff - most were very friendly and helpful. The young Scottish man I will mention for special praise as he was forever attentive, and resilient, and good-humoured in the face of adversity. Adversity came first in the form of our booked dinner table not being ready at the correct time - 8 p.m.. We could see that it had been vacated, but not cleared. Rather than quickly clear it and send us through, the man (not the Scot) behind the bar 'advised' us to wait there, and have a drink - which neither of us actually wanted to do. As there seemed no alternative, we did as we were instructed. This was the only time I felt we were treated over-casually by any of the staff, which was a disappointment. After a significant wait, we were ushered to the table. Our waiter was charming and attentive ... but he would need to be. The body blow was that as we sat at our table, about to give our order, we overheard from the table behind that the only non-seafood main course, (my partner generally avoids fish), had 'run out' ... Our charming waiter suggested a vegetarian dish from the lunch menu - but even he could not genuinely recommend it. We had a nice bottle of Vino Verde, which eased the disappointments of that first evening. The next morning, we descended for breakfast, to be greeted warmly by our cheerful Scot, but his news was not good. Chef had called in sick! (We did wonder if this might not have been the night before too!) So, it was Continental Breakfast, but it was a pretty thin and unappetising array - a smallish plate of tired, dry, sliced cold meat, looking rather too exposed - some quartered oranges and watermelon slices. There were boxed cereals and apple or orange juice (long life), but a shortage of milk. The coffee (served as a one-off ready-made cup) did not taste at all good. Toast and marmalade saved the day, but breakfast was not a very joyful experience, as it should have been in a superior Bed and Breakfast booking. That evening, we decided to have dinner at "Tom’s", an easy walkable distance from Rock Point, which was predictably expensive and good - it had been a long hot day, and it was a real treat. The atmosphere was relaxed, the staff both pleasant and efficient, and food was absolutely delicious! Day 2 of our stay at Lyme Regis therefore ended well, but I should point out one more problem at The Rock Point - the plumbing. Running the tap in the bathroom sink filled the bowl without the plug

We stayed for one night B&B and chose to have our evening meal at the Rockpoint too. Room, Staff, food, ale all excellent. There was nothing we could fault and we plan to come back to the area in a few weeks. We hope that they will have availability, as we don't want to have to find anywhere else.

There were a couple of items which had run out so the choice from what is already quite a small menu was rather limited. It was also really hot inside. There was a long wait for the food as it was a busy time. The food was decent but not special. From other reviews I was expecting a bit more but it could have just been bad timing. Staff all very helpful and a good selection of drinks.
