This really depends on your liking. The AC is probably set on 74 at the coolest. The "soulless" feel you get that a few other reviewers wrote is spot on. There is no one working after dinner for front desk, any kind of help. If you're an introvert, crunchy granola type of person, this is for you. Not your typical 5 star resort at all.

Vila Valverde is een oase van rust in een vijf sterren omgeving! Het personeel is buitengewoon vriendelijk. De kamers zijn groot en mooi, het uitzicht is grandioos! De keuken is geweldig, zowel de lunch als het diner. Deze kleinschalige parel verdiend een dikke 10! Wat voor ons de beste rating is. Geweldig!

Lovely relaxed atmosphere, great staff and lovely location. Breakfast was a great treat every morning and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The hotel was quiet and tranquil with 2 pools indoor and outdoor, a fabulous sun terrace. The rooms are luxurious and large perfect for either a short or extended stay.

Meine Frau, ich und zwei befreundete Ehepaare haben eine wundervolle Wanderwoche in der Vila Valverde verbracht. Dieses kleine, feine Hotel ist wirklich ein ganz besonderer Ort. Das gesamte Konzept hat uns auf Anhieb begeistert – das weitläufige Grundstück mit dem herrlichen Blick auf den Atlantik, das stilvolle Design und die harmonische Einbettung in die Natur. Besonders beeindruckt hat uns das ökologische Gesamtkonzept, das sich auch im Frühstück widerspiegelt: hausgebackenes Roggenbrot, Rührei mit Lachs oder Speck – es blieb kein Wunsch offen. Die Ruhe dort ist einfach traumhaft – ideal zum Entspannen. Man hört nichts außer Vogelgezwitscher, und morgens sieht man sogar wilde Hasen über das Gelände hoppeln. Ab dem ersten Tag haben wir uns rundum erholt gefühlt. Ein weiterer Pluspunkt: Der Besitzer spricht ausgezeichnet Deutsch und kennt sich bestens an der Algarve aus. Er hat uns ein tolles Wanderbuch mitgegeben, in dem viele lohnenswerte Routen verzeichnet sind. Auch eine Bootstour durch die Grotten können wir sehr empfehlen – ein echtes Highlight. Für uns drei Paare war es eine perfekte Woche. Wir kommen bestimmt bald wieder an die Algarve!

We are very sad that we had to leave again, but the next stay is already planned. For us, Vilavalverde is the best hotel in Lagos. The entire complex and the facilities are simply exceptional. Beautiful property. They need to have both heat and air conditioning options available to guests. They only had heat available when I was there, and the room was soooo hot I could not sleep. The breakfast was delicious. We were not provided a map of the property or area, it would have been nice to know where the walking trails were.

The place is very beautiful, organized and clean. Very attentive and friendly staff. The "Deluxe" room was fantastic and had a balcony. TOP breakfast. Everything well organized and well done. Very quiet place close to Lagos. Clearly to return for a long weekend in the summer.
