Lutsen Sea Villas

Each room was clean, the beds were comfortable, the pool and hot tub were well taken care of, the grounds were also well kept and we loved the waking path along the shore line, and the views- the views of Lake Superior are unmatched!! We sat on the rocks daily!

The location is good, halfway between Tofte and Lutsen with the units close to a very pretty shoreline where waves were breaking in over the rocks. The unit we were in felt very 1970s/80s which is probably when they were built. The basics are covered by a sofa, a comfortable chair, table and chairs for eating, a kitchen where we made breakfasts and lunches, and a good bed in a smallish bedroom. There is a small deck and a grill behind the unit but it was cold so we didn't use it. There's also a little fireplace with tools, instructions, and a supply of wood but we didn't use it. The unit was very clean. What's in units may vary since all the units are owned by individuals, something you see often with North Shore cabins. Unfortunately our unit had flies in it which we spent some of our time swatting. Also the bathtub didn't drain well. At checkout they said they would immediately work on both problems.

The kitchen was well stocked with enough utensils and cookware. Extra pillows and towels were available. Staff is friendly and our townhouse was very clean. The view of the lake is great so it's nice to be indoors in bad weather. Plenty of firewood for the Franklin stove.

The location is fabulous. It's an ideal place to stay halfway between Duluth and the Canadian border, to use as a home base. When they say seaside, they mean SEASIDE! The villas were offset just enough that you weren't staring into the villa on either side of you. People use the narrow area between the villa and water as a walking path, so be aware if you like your privacy. The villa was very clean with some nice touches by the housekeeping staff. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you'd need to cook with. Our villa could have slept 7-8 people but honestly it would be a bit cramped with that many people. Ideal for a couple and maybe 1-2 kids. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay there again.

Although the unit we stayed in was a little run down, the access to the lake and beauty of the site more than made up for it. We enjoyed the trail along the lake and the one through the woods above the units. We will definitely return to the Sea Villas in the future.

The Friday and Sunday desk person was very helpful and personable. There were a few problems on Saturday night in the pool area. The hot tub jets did not work. The sauna was out of order. The children's water area also did not work. It seems that the system needed to be reset, but the desk clerk said he wasn't authorized to do so. The pool is supposed to stay open until 10:00; earlier if no one is in the pool at 9:40. However, we were informed that the pool would close at 9:40 even though we were there before nine. Due to drought, no outside fires were allowed which is understandable. Great location, Comfortable beds. No spatulas provided in the kitchen otherwise, nicely stocked.

Amenities are perfect as we traveled with an infant and seniors. The location is perfect with unbeatable views and easy access to the lake. I would recommend dusting the fans as they are dirty. When they are turned on, we see dusts.

Beautiful place. Spotlessly clean. Epic views of Lake Superior. Well maintained. Relaxing condo with comfortable beds. Perfect spot for fall adventure. Close to towns and to great places to dine. Will be going back as soon as possible. Reasonably priced for Lake Superior’s North Shore
