Mayneview B&B

The initial impression of the house was great but what disappointed us were two things: 1) cleanness- the blanket was apparently not cleaned for some time with some sticky stuff on it. 2) the breakfast. The walnuts in the pancakes were not fresh and derailed the whole thing. The host was welcoming and offered useful tips, though. And I liked the patio area where people can sit and enjoy the moonrise.

We purchased a National Park pass earlier this year visiting Utah and Shenandoah National Park was the closest to us. We spent a while trying to find a place to stay. We are typically Hotel stayers preferring the anonymity. However, first and foremost we hold cleanliness at the top of the list. We had a lot of trouble finding a place with clean reviews until we got to the MayneView B&B. We stayed in the smaller Hawksbill Room and it was enough for us. It had a beautiful view of the mountains. MayneView B&B was close enough that we were able to spend a few days and do several hiking trips, visit a few of the mead & wine distilleries, see a movie, browse the town, see the Caverns and eat all over. Gail who was the watching over the B&B while the owners were away was an amazing hostess. She was a chef so her breakfasts in the morning were something we looked forward too especially for doing all the hikes that we did. She gave us great recommendations for food, hikes and places to see. While we know she may not be there the next time, we enjoyed the MayneView B&B enough that if we want to do more of the hikes that we missed out on in Shenandoah, we'd definitely stay there again.

The B&B itself is lovely—clean, cozy, and full of charm, may be dated and not super luxurious, but what made our stay unforgettable was the incredible hospitality of the manager, Gregory. He’s not just a great host—he’s an excellent human being. Warm, attentive, and genuinely kind, he treated us more like a guest in his home than a customer. Whether it was offering local tips, helping with directions, or just taking a moment to chat, Gregory’s presence added a personal touch that made all the difference.

Excellent B&B in Luray. They are very welcoming and the breakfasts were delicious. Gregory was very informative and an excellent cook. He was delightful to chat with. My room was very clean and spacious. The B&B has a cool history and it’s beautiful. Will definitely visit again

The property was beautiful and full of history. Very clean, safe, and provides a home like feel. Gregory’s service he provides as your host is unmatched. They also provide the best breakfast you’ll get in the area, complimentary to your stay. Highly recommended if you’re planning your trip to Luray!

We were looking for a close-by place to D.C. to celebrate a milestone anniversary. Mayneview was a great choice. Greg and Bryce were helpful and friendly without being overbearing. We were in a small suite that had all we needed. Lots to do in the area.
