This 97-year-old hotel is luxurious and has a profound cultural heritage. The books displayed in the hall are very precious and hard to put down. Our king bed was very comfortable and it would be nice if each suite had a fridge (the front desk loaned us a mini fridge this time which was lovely) and a coffee maker. The hotel staff are all enthusiastic and warm, making people linger.

This is a lovely hotel! It's classy and elegant, and overall it'll make your vacation that much more special. The location is great, as you can walk to restaurants or other places in Luray. The Luray Caverns are a quick drive away, as is a Walmart and Food Lion, and Skyline Drive's Thornton Gap Entrance is close by. I ate at the Circa '31 restaurant for breakfast, which was reasonably priced (the menu is small with a few standard breakfast options). Free coffee and muffins in the lobby at all times. The Speakeasy restaurant is very good, and has various specials/deals each night. The bedrooms are small, but comfortable. The grounds are beautiful, with an area for bonfires and hammocks, as well as a pool and hot tub area. The staff is very kind and accommodating.
A few recommendations for the management:
~Put mini fridges in the rooms
~Put chairs on the balcony so people can use it as a sitting area
~Something to provide more counter space in the bathrooms
I recommend the Mimslyn Inn to anyone staying in the Luray area!

This is probably the bet place to stay in Luray. The building is beautiful and nicely furnished. BUT our Historic King Bedroom was small and cramped with an uncomfortably soft mattress and the tiniest bathroom. Their main dining room is only open on weekends, so we ate dinner in the basement Speakeasy. Service from the bartender and waiter was excellent and the food was good standard pub fare.

We were looking for a place for a family of 5 for 1 night on our way to do a college visit. We were already planning to see the Luray Caverns so decided to pick somewhere local. Our stay here was in the White Cottage. When I booked it, I did not realize the only parking for this cottage is handicap parking. I called the front desk to see if we could park at the next cottage which had 2 spaces and was told we absolutely could not park there. The only parking available was in a gravel lot at the other end of the cottages or down the hill by the main hotel. Twice they told me I could park in the handicap spot. The thought of parking in that spot was a no go for me. I have family that need those spots and I don’t think I would have slept all night if I had done that. We stayed up late and I’m up by 7am and no one utilized the parking at the Bird’s nest cottage. I was denied close, otherwise legal parking for no apparent reason. Did I mention, you pass an entrance to the police station on the way to the cottages(?) the front desk attendant’s word that I would not get towed- well no thanks. The room was comfortable though it was only set up with 2 towels. We registered 5 people. Be e re ash for a nice hike to finish setting up your cottage so that you can use the shower, pool or hot tub.

Wonderful overnight stay with family. Hotel was beautiful, everything well appointed, and all staff were helpful and friendly. Food in both restaurants was great, and the pools looked beautiful- the weather kept us from using them unfortunately. Wish we had more than one night here and would highly recommend!
