River Ridge Lodge

We visited Nova Scotia for a week, and without a doubt, this was our favorite lodging. Frauke was incredibly friendly, helpful and just a lovely person to talk to - I felt like we were old friends! The location is great, nice and relaxing and away from any busyness, but convenient to get to where you need to go. The lodge is immaculately clean, beautifully decorated and furnished (beds were super comfy!). It has everything you could need, and we loved the lounge area with tea/coffee making facilities, and delicious yogurt and granola for breakfast. This was an absolute perfect place to visit, and we are so grateful for having found it!

Frauke was a welcoming and knowledgable host. The room was spacious and the bed was heavenly! My wife and I had the best nights sleep here of any of our other accomodations on our 9 night vacation to the surrounding area.The owner suggested some excellent restaurants and walking trails in the area. Overall great stay.

‘Relax and Renew’ is exactly what you get to do if you are lucky enough to stay at River Ridge Lodge. Frauke is a fantastic hostess….kind - nothing is too much trouble, interested and knowledgeable about the local area and beyond. Sitting on the deck in the early evening was a great and peaceful wind down after the day. We thoroughly enjoyed our too short stay and would loved to have stayed longer. Thank you

River Ridge Lodge had so many great reviews, my wife and I thought we should check it out ourselves to see what was being done so well. We booked for 5 nights and can confirm that everything is being done well. Frauke and Mike are fantastic hosts. They recommended restaurants and sights to see along the South Shore. The restaurant recommendations were especially helpful as many restaurants were closed certain mid-week evenings. Their website is also a comprehensive resource that provides a wealth of information about shops, restaurants and hikes in the area. The rooms were spotless, roomy and very comfortable. Almost any amenity you could think of was available. The grounds were gorgeous and we especially liked spending some time each evening sitting by the boathouse along the river. The location of the lodge is very convenient to Mahone Bay, Chester and Lunenburg. But, we also took side trips to Halifax and Wolfville. River Ridge Lodge is a great place to stay, with wonderful hosts who made us feel as though we were at home. Can't wait to go back.
