This is an absolutely authentic inn right on the main street in Lunenburg. If you want something corporate and cookie-cutter, this isn’t for you. Each room is unique and simply work. It reminded us so much of the (late) Pioneer Inn in Lahaina, Maui, as it is built of wood and every space and hallway is different. Our room had a surprisingly large king bed. But I’m delaying on the real reason to stay there, which is the owner, Mr. Kim. He is FANTASTIC! Helpful, attentive, and hilarious. For example, he carried our friends’ bags upstairs. Who does that!?! As we had driven there and the inn has no parking lot, Mr. Kim had arranged for a spot just a few steps away. There is also a for-pay breakfast available. Just alert the front desk the evening before and, who else, Mr. Kim will be there the next morning at the time you desire to cook it. If you want “old Lunenburg,” look no farther than Smuggler’s Cove. If you are visiting in tourist season when the streets might be jammed, rest assured that there is a parking spot in front where you can register and offload your bags.
