The service was the best we have ever had. All the staff especially Tom the manager looked after us perfectly and went the extra mile to ensure that we were short of nothing. After 4 weeks stay they became friends.
The facilities were good and we had clean towels daily and bed linen changed every other day. General cleanliness was first class and our room was cleaned really thoroughly every day.
The location on the banks of the Nan Khan in a quiet part of Luang Prabang was idyllic and to have breakfast served on the bank of the river watching the boats go by was a highlight of our day. The breakfast menu was extensive and imaginative backed up be superb food cooked really well.
This is a hotel that you will want to revisit. Highly recommended.

The loud noise from the street can't sleep. The sound of the huge water heater starting outside the room can't sleep all night. Except for this problem, everything else is good. Unfortunately, the hotel is full and can't change rooms for three nights. The hotel has good sanitation and complete facilities. It's just that it's facing the street. The house can no longer live in Luang Prabang during this period of severe smog and ashes flying in the air like snowflakes It is really the wrong season to come to this peaceful place

The environment is very Southeast Asian, and the room is very tidy. It is very close to the night market. Although the boss can't speak Chinese, he is very nice and caring. The breakfast is also delicious. I will still choose this place next time I come

This kind of wooden house is carefully selected, close to the street, motorbikes whistling, chickens crowing in the middle of the night, and the noise from the next door is like thunder.

This is one of my favourite hotels in Southeast Asia. The staff are incredibly welcoming and helpful going above and beyond in anyway they can. You’re able to use the bicycles from the hotel free of charge as well as rent motorbikes if needed. The room is incredibly clean and comfortable with no ants or mosquitos in sight (even when leaving food out). The shower is large with hot water and strong pressure. They provide a dental kit (toothbrush / toothpaste), soap, shampoo and body wash which is all high quality stuff. The breakfast provided is an 11/10 with coffee, tea, juice and a range of options to eat including pancakes, omelettes, rice dishes and more. You will also get a small bowl of fruit and a great view of the river. There is some construction going on at the moment in the river adjacent to the hotel, but I slept through it no problem and my girlfriend didn’t hear a thing with her ear plugs in. I will definitely stay here again if I am ever back in the area.

Owned by a local woman!!! Highly recommend staying here, especially as it is owned by the woman who grew up in this very house. Of course it has been renovated into a hotel within the last twenty years, with a few remaining pillars from the original structure (there was a flood that took away the original bamboo home a long time ago). The home has been in the same family for around one hundred years. If you have the chance to meet the owner, who was a doctor in Vientiane her entire career, you will be absolutely charmed. Her English and French are excellent as she has lived in Paris, and has travelled the world. Take the time to listen to her stories, she is a fascinating woman. I’ll also note that this hotel is actually nicer than it looks online on photos - it’s one short block down from the main strip so very convenient location, but also quiet at night which can be hard to find in Luang Prabang especially during festivals & holidays. The room was very spacious and clean. Strong shower pressure & hot water. Breakfast was excellent, you can sit across the street right by the river which is very relaxing & offers a beautiful view. We had the fried noodles and they were very tasty! Good strong coffee too. There are many continental options as well. Cannot recommend enough, we loved our stay here!

Cute looking small hotel in a nice, well located neighborhood. Very slippery floors in the lobby and on the stairs, so anyone thinking of This hotel should think carefully before booking. Also, as we were leaving (the taxi was waiting and we had been in the lobby for some time) the hotel sprung a large fee on us—more than three times the amount we had paid them to launder two bags of clothes. There was visible dirt on the towel but it was something that would easily come out with cleaning—which I assume they do with every towel for new guests. Anyway, because we needed to leave and because I was shocked by being asked, I paid. But jn doing so, any positive thoughts I had about the hotel disappeared. There are plenty of other choices in Luang Prabang, many within yards of Ban Lakkham, and I would encourage others to look at those. I would not recommend Ban Lakkham.
Response from Property: Dear Sir/Madam Ashley Thank you so much to taking your time to wrote a review on us, Yes in our lobby ground quite slippery upon the clients chrck in told our clients every time because our hotel is wooden house, Our laundry service we charge 20,000 kip/ 1 kg , It's about 1$ per kg, I'm sure charge for the laundry service it's very cheap than all of hotels in luang prabang, And for your laundry two bags It's about 6 kg x 20,000 kip = 120,000 kip in dollar about 6$. For towels we have a problem like this many time because the clients used towel to remove dirty things on shoes or foots etc..., Before we didn't charge money but we saw quite often about this etc..., And we very hard to clean out and still have a stain on. In that day I charge you only 9.50 USD = 200, 000 kip and keep you the towel. Thanks! Best Regards Tom And Team Best Regards Tom and Team

We had a restful stay in a great location. This budget hotel features a friendly staff and a good breakfast. The breakfast is served outside, overlooking the river. You are close to the temples, night market, and the monks’ morning alms procession. Like the other Laotian hotels we stayed at, there’s a lot of beautiful wood used in the building. We would definitely stay here again. Although it’s generally quiet, I wasn’t sleeping well so I did hear the tourist vans pulling up outside the hotel at 5:45 AM to drop people off to see the monks’ procession. Also you could hear the morning rooster, which occurred in 3 of the 5 hotels we stayed at in Laos and Thailand. The rest of the family slept right through these noises.

Super friendly team at reception and at breakfast. We just had French bread and jam with extra fruit but the pancakes looked huge. Purely by co-incidence we arrived for the lighting/boat racing festival so all the temples were beautifully decorated with lights and candles. The finale was a parade of small boats through the main street before they were floated down the Mekong.

Tom and the staff are so friendly and helpful. Tom helped us get transport from/to the airport and to rent a scooter. The hotel is in a perfect location along the river and only a 5 minute walk to the night market, cafes, restaurants. The breakfast was delicious with hot baked bread! Water pressure good, AC great. The only little thing was the bed was very hard. Highly recommend
