What a find! Away from the main street although easily walkable to the night market and bars and restaurants.
Carefully prepared breakfasts which we both enjoyed.
Rooms are large and individually decorated, cleaned daily. Really loved the beautiful decor.
Service was excellent. Any query was answered fully and suggestions for activities and restaurants given if and when required.
There was a lovely pool area with beds and chairs too.
All in all I would thoroughly recommend this boutique hotel for families or couples.

I really liked the interior design of the hotel!
The hotel staff were also very kind and would talk to me every time I passed through the lobby☺️
The breakfast was also luxurious and I was happy to be given a fruit platter in addition to the main course✨
It's a bit far to walk to the riverside, taking about 20 minutes, but you can rent bicycles so it wasn't a problem for sightseeing.
There were supermarkets, restaurants, and shops nearby.

The water temperature of the shower is not very hot and the water pressure is relatively low. This is the only drawback. Everything else is great. The room is well decorated with Laotian characteristics. Slippers are required when entering the door, and the whole house is very clean. The GM and several employees are very friendly. Although the breakfast is not as rich as that of star hotels, the taste of several Laotian breakfasts is very good, and the Western breakfast is also delicious.

My husband and I stayed in the Mulberry room for three nights in June 2025. I can’t say enough good about this hotel and their staff. Everyone who works at this hotel is dedicated to providing exceptional service and are genuinely kind people. The room was spacious, comfortable, and clean. Great Laos made bath products. Our breakfast each morning was punctual and delicious. We really enjoyed the pool in the afternoons, which was a welcome amenity after many trips to Luang Prabang over the years and this being very unique for a hotel this close to town. The common areas of the hotel provide very comfortable areas to sit and socialize if you want to get our of your room. The location is an easy walk to restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and yet is a very quiet location. This is the fourth property I have stayed at over the years in Luang Prabang and going forward can’t imagine staying anywhere else.

I've been meaning to write a review for a few months. We stayed here in mid-February for four days in the "mango" room. Location is quiet, but walkable to just about everything. Luang Prabang is pretty compact. We made use of the complementary bikes and biked all around. LP is surrounded by mountains but the town itself is in a valley so biking is a breeze. As everyone else notes, Phout, front desk manager, and the two French women who own the place are outstanding. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Such a fab three night stay here. My room was huge, with a separate seating area. Everything was well thought out, with great amenities. There was plenty of drinkable water left in my room each day along with a french press, electric kettle, and ground coffee. There was a place to hang clothes, the bathroom was roomy with quality towels and a robe. Everything in the entire hotel was super clean. Breakfast was great every morning with helpful staff always willing to answer questions. The location was walkable to all the spots we visited in town, and one day the hotel arranged a car and driver to take us to the waterfalls. I can definitely recommend a stay here, it's a luxurious small boutique hotel that's well-run.

I travel a lot and have stayed in many wonderful hotels. Baan Pila is now one of my favorites! For about $100/night, my five-night stay here was perfection - with incredibly kind and helpful staff, a clean and spacious room, comfy beds, and an absolutely wonderful breakfast. I have to give a big shout-out to Phout. She helped me with everything . . . including recommendations and reservations for a sunset cruise on the Mekong and a pottery class, plus so much more. What makes Baan Pila extra "five-star" special however is the decor. Beautiful artwork made by local artisans is featured throughout the hotel and in each of the six rooms, giving this boutique hotel a unique, bohemian vibe that you'd expect to see in much higher-priced properties. Baan Pila is well-situated in Luang Prabang on a quiet side street about a 10-minute walk from the Night Market area. If I return to Luang Prabang I will absolutely stay here again!

I’m not really sure whether I should be writing this review, as quite honestly I want to keep this incredible place to myself. Our room was one of the loveliest I have ever stayed in my whole life. Baan Pila is stylish, calm, airy, beautifully decorated and in an ideal location for exploring the delights of Luang Prabang. Phout and her team are truly wonderful; we could not have been better looked after. The breakfasts, and the breakfast room itself, were heavenly - a truly perfect start to every magical day here. Thank you all.

We a Swiss couple very much enjoyed our stay at Baan Pila. We spend 5 nights there. Phout and her team were very friendly, helpful and efficient recommending places to visit and addressing any query immediately. The breakfast was very good. Our room on the first floor was big, clean, quiet and well furnished. The location of Baan Pila is also perfect being a few minutes walk from the city center. At the end of her stay we had the chance to meet the owners two nice and friendly ladies. We realised that they created the hotel with great care and attention to detail. We can only recommend Baan Pila and would surely good back to this place if we return one day to Luang Prabang.

Location, cost performance, interior design, facilities, cleanliness, and above all, service and kindness of the staff, including Phout, Kii were excellent. There are many other gorgeous and expensive hotels in Luang Prabang, but anyone who stays at Baan Pila will definitely come back here next time.

What a fantastic place! Great location, just about 10 mins walk from the centre of Luang Prabang, spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated (with lots of extra touches such as natural mosquito repellent among the toiletries in the bathroom). There is lots of choice for breakfast and everything is freshly made to order. The staff were all incredibly helpful.

Hands down the best stay experience in Luang Prabang! A historic mid-century bungalow located on a quiet street in the middle of Luang Prabang. Beautifully restored with handcrafted furniture, textiles and a lovely design aesthetic. I loved the high ceilings, natural light and wonderfully thought out details -- the mini bar with local snacks, french press with locally-grown organic Arabica beans, organic locally crafted bath amenities and the sweet indigenous textiles around the room. The staff is exceptional, always smiling, considerate and willing to assist. I would stay here over and over again! -- I stayed in the Payapa Room, which was perfect for a solo traveller or a couple. Baan Pila also has suites with sitting areas and vestibules for those traveling with families.
