On arrival the place looked run down. The room was reasonable but a bit dark. The TV had 4 thin lines down it and the volume cut out twice. The bathroom had signs of mould and rust. The shaver light wasn't working and extractor fan was very weak. The refreshments in the room consisted of 4 teabags and some sugar - no coffee and I had to ask for milk. The continental breakfast consisted of a choice of three cereals, whole milk, bread for toast and margarine - plus some juice and tea/coffee. I got a cheap last minute deal but I would have regretted it if I'd paid the full amount.

Do NOT stay here. It is dirty, furniture is broken, window frames hanging off and white shower curtains are orange at the bottom with grime. They have also posted a review about themselves from myself, which they have written...I did not post it! I will be reporting them. VILE.

My first thought when I arrived was, oh dear where the devil have I chosen to stay, as the entrance is very welcoming. Well you get what you pay for, and yes it wasn't overly expensive. I entered the reception through the door in which the glass was shattered, and a rusty table with a full ash tray was. The young man on reception was very polite and friendly, although his English wasn't great. He gave me my door card and pointed the way to the room. All I will say is please look at the photos that I have attached and make your own opinion. I assure you the room is nothing like the online photos. Completely broken blinds, windows with black mould/gunge, carpet filthy, bathroom floor curling up completely around edges, grease and dirty around sink and oven, microwave full of rust!! I understand some rooms have been upgraded but this one wasn't. I was booked in for 6 nights, but on the second evening of listening to noises in the room (not a clue what they were from, but was a lot of scurrying) and getting bitten badly by bedbugs, I booked alternative accommodation for the rest of my stay (4 nights) and left very early the next day. The hotel is not interested. I did speak to the young man on the desk and he did come to look at the room, but just smiled and said "yes I see"! Room 10 - "Apartment" (Not an apartment)

Staff were very friendly, it’s in need of renovation but I’m not going to complain too much given the excellent price. For a night or two, as just a place to sleep, I would 100% recommend.

Unclean Not sure how this hotel has 8 stars. Very unclean. The sheets were dirty, other than being desperate to get the kids to bed we would have found another hotel. My husband slept on a towel with another over him as the bedding was dirty. The bathroom had grime along the edges and the whole place just felt so grim. I imagine its perfect for a stag do or something where the guest are too drunk to notice. The breakfast was some bread and a toaster with cornflakes left for you to help yourself. Not sure how that can be policed for cleanliness. Safe to say we didnt eat it.

THERE IS A CONVICTED PAEDOPHILE RESIDING HERE. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN. Used this place for a few months whilst working away as price is okay and rooms are comfy enough, and much cleaner since the new manager has been there. However, I will not be using this hotel anymore since finding out through one of the other residents that there is a convicted paedophile residing there permanently and the owner is aware and has made no actions to protect vulnerable children. Disgraceful.
