ICONA Diamond Beach

Probably one of the nicest hotels we’ve ever stayed at. Service, decor, cleanliness, and location, all great. The only negatives, and I’m digging deep here and being nit-picky. Maybe a couple more hooks in the lavatory opposite the sink for towels or bathing suits. And a sink faucet that doesn’t come so far out into the sink that when you bend over and brush your teeth, your nose is practically touching the faucet. There is a pretty good gap between the door and the door frame which lets in light and sound. Although it was relatively quiet during our whole stay, I wouldn’t want to be the person that had to sleep in the living room. They treated us for our 50th wedding anniversary trip. I think we got the best room in the hotel so we had the best view. (But yes, I did pay for a "top" floor experience). Has a TV in the living area and a TV in the bedroom. Has a mini fridge. Has a microwave. Has a dishwasher. Cooktop. A Keurig. Has a TV in the living area and a TV in the bedroom. I love the way the toilet flushes and swirls the water as it goes down. The shower was quite large and had a couple shelves for your accoutrements and a lower shelf—I guess to put your feet on, we weren’t sure if it was weight-bearing so we didn’t sit on it. And two different shower heads to choose from. Not the greatest pressure, but with several spray patterns to choose from, it was very sufficient. Enough outlets to power your devices. Ironing board. Iron. This is just a beautiful place. I think housekeeping might be on duty nearly 24 hours. It seemed there’s always people out and about cleaning, and maintenance staff working. we asked for a checkout extension, and they gave it to us. This may not be as easy to get in the on season as it was in the off-season. Very nice pool and beach side access. Sanitizer stations at every elevator I believe they have an AI text number. I only used it twice, and one time it never got back with me. It responded and said the front desk would respond when they had a moment. I guess they never had a moment. These complaints are really minor, and nit-picky stuff. This is really a 4 Star beautiful place to stay. Housekeeping was tops, and service was great. Super views if you get a high floor. Would we stay again? Definitely, if off season. This hotel is not cheap during the full swing seasonal period. My biggest complaint is the cancellation timing requirement. I guess we don’t stay at Resort-like places often because we’ve never seen 14-day cancellation requirements. We thought three days was extreme. Because we were traveling on a very flexible vacation schedule, I couldn’t risk booking the room until we were very sure about our departure from our previous stop. Doing it this way saved any risk of forfeiture of funds, but also risked having a room available to book. We were on a 3-week, 4000 mile road trip.

I just wanted to say Thank You! Your team made sure my wife and I had a wonderfull week and exceptional service. I had an issue with a booking extension and both Susan and I believe it was Brandon / James (ask Susan)...sorry was a month ago... did everything they could to make it work...and they did. From the front desk, to cleaning staff who never said no to tidying up our rook daily, to Ross at the Star Bar with his great attitude ans recommendations.. everyone was positive and understands customer service. I have been a business owner for over 20 years and customer service can make or break a business. You have our loyalty. This was our 3rd summer and we will see you next year for our 4th! Only thing that was a miss was the Star Bar food. Whomever is in charge of portions and QC needs to understand this business better/retrain. If you have the gaul to charge me $18 for buffalo wings... and they you have the balls to put (5) Restaurant Depot small lonley wings in a box to servce your beach bar....what are you thinking? If you're charging 400-800 p/n, do you think i want to be shorted on food? No... I want you to charge me, but feed me. Being cheap on portions is one way to lose customers for sure. We took our 7 month old on his first vacation and the icona exceeded our expectations. The staff was wonderful and accommodating to our large group with two very small babies. All of our waitresses at the restaurant, beach bar and pool were fantastic and personable. Elma was especially wonderful at our first family dinner! We can’t wait to come back.
