Unfortunately there is no “Zero” rating. I encountered the most unprofessional and rude peoples at the front desk. I came in early around 1:00PM for check in on April 13th, 2023 and the woman at the front desk told me, very abruptly and rudely, that I had to wait until 2:30pm at the earliest for check in. I told her I can wait in the lobby. She went back to her back office and another agent showed up to replace her at the front desk. Then about 20-30 minutes later, another guest came in and asked for the same thing - early check in. The new front desk agent, happily, checked this guest in early immediately. So, I approached this agent and asked her politely why the other woman denied me an early check in. She said she didn’t know. During this conversation, the first woman overheard the conversation, rushed out and yelled at me, told me that I didn’t have the privilege. I told both of them that I had “Elite” status with IHG and I should be able to check in early when room is available. She continued to yell at me. So, I told her that I will have to call IHG Customer Service to report a complaint. While I was on the phone with IHG Customer Service, the woman racially cussed at me in the background and canceled my reservation without my permission. IHG Customer Service apologized for the cancellation and rebooked the room for me. However, right after I finished the call, the woman canceled my reservation again, then verbally attack me for calling the IHG central customer service and told her “****” (possibly a handyman at the hotel) to push me out of the lobby and claimed that I didn’t have any reservations. I didn’t want to fight with the “****” so I left for the hotel around the corner. It is so shameful that IHG corporation allows their employees conducted this kind of rudely manner (and may even be illegally) on their business premises. I will never book IHG again!!!
