At first entrance to the room there was no seating. not a chair, sofa nothing just two beds.. No ice bucket, no cups and 2 wall plugs. Bathroom was super small, no hair dryer and the dam toilet ran all night. Bed was ok, but the screaming fight in the hall between whomever was so bad it woke me. Sounded like either drunk people or some chic was NOT happy. It went on for an hour. Keurig was filthy also. NOT happy

I would recommend against staying at this tired, overpriced hotel that doubles as a student dorm during the school year. The room smelled, the internet didn’t work, the beds were soft, and the staff was diffident at best. On the good side—parking was easy and convenient though we were there in early August.

Rooms were gross and had no charm. Beds looked like they were from the 90’s. I brought a couple snacks from Whole Foods. There was no fridge provided in the room. Within 20min my room was full of large mice searching for a meal. Checked out immediately.

Room was very unclean and stains left in bathroom , dead insects around the room as well , guest appliances broken/not working properly, and no trash bags in room trash cans either. Overall uncomfortable and unclean feeling.

I was very disappointed by the general lack of upkeep and cleanliness at the Lowell Inn. It really felt like a cheap roadside motel and not a place owned and operated by a university and it’s conference center. Most disappointing was the lack of information shared in the website about the fact that the “hotel rooms” are dorm rooms during the academic year. The facility’s “inn rooms” are year-around accommodations and are more expensive. The hotel rooms are dorm rooms but that is never explicitly noted. While this concept is not a bad idea, the Lowell Inn made little effort to make the rooms hospitable to hotel guests. The photos shown of the hotel rooms on the website did not accurately show the room we were given and made me believe this was a ‘bait and switch’ operation. Our room had an old desk lamp with broken shade, no bedside lights, no chair other than a desk chair, filthy carpet, old and scratched dresser, bed stand and desk, moldy bathroom tiles, old faucets and flaking bathroom paint, scuffed walls throughout, and lumpy beds and pillows. We needed to move rooms because our sink had no plug and we feared items would drop down the drain. The hallway carpet was visibly dirty everywhere, the guest laundry had dirt and debris on the floor, and the breakfast was skimpy. The utilization of unused dorm rooms for hotel rooms during the school’s break is a good idea and with some work and professional level of maintenance and attention this place would seem to have potential. In the meantime the management should clearly share information about the accommodations on their website and include photos that accurately show the rooms’ condition.

This is a standard university summer dorm hotel. The rooms are basic, two beds and a desk, with one chair so if travelling with more than one person there is no where to sit. The beds were foam comfortable and lots of pillows, better than most student summer dorm hotels I've been at. The TV is tiny and didn't work so bring a laptop and don't plan on plugging into the screen. No fridges or microwaves. unless requested at extra cost in advance. The continental breakfast is bagels and coffee. Rooms overlooking the canal have a great view. Convenient to the historical sites downtown. Decent small bar at the hotel with an economical food menu.
