Residence Inn Louisville Airport

recently stayed at the Residence Inn Louisville airport. In fact, over the years I have stayed at this hotel at least 25 times and I have never been disappointed. The hotel is not new, but management and housekeeping does a excellent job of maintaining the property. While the hotel is near the airport and a freeway, I have never heard any outside noise. But, as a nice touch, housekeeping places a pair of earplugs in the room just in case a guest may need them. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are spacious. In addition, if something is not right staff will take care of any issues. For example, I only sleep on feather pillows and upon request, housekeeping promptly replaced the pillows. On another occasion the air conditioner system froze up and water leaked on the floor. I was quickly moved to another room and was awarded 10,000 Marriott points, ever without requesting. The rooms are fully equipped with a large refrigerator with ice maker, stove, microwave, plates, glasses, and utensils, and a kitchen table. There is also free parking available making this a great hotel for someone staying several days or for a large family. Some special feature of this hotel include a hot and cold breakfast each morning, and on Wednesday they even provide a free dinner along with water, soft drinks, wine, and beer. The hotel also has an outdoor swimming pool, tennis court, and a fully equipped exercise room. However, most impressive about this hotel is the staff. They are all very friendly, efficient, and always willing to answer any questions. Being a Marriott Lifetime Titanium elite member, I stay in a lot of hotels and I can say with certainty there are two things that makes this hotel unique. The General Manager is frequently in the lobby engaging with guest and making sure everything is up to their expectations, and the last time I stayed in this hotel prior to arriving I received a personal email from Tamela Shoop, the front desk supervisor thanking me for returning the hotel and asking if I had any special requests. The Residence Inn is in an area along with 10-15 other hotels, and over the years I have stayed in many of them, but I think this is the best hotel, and I will certainly continue to stay at the Residence Inn when I am in Louisville..

We were here for Derby weekend and would 100% return. I chose the hotel because it is close to the airport and close to the track. The room itself was very standard Residence Inn fare. Comfortable beds, excellent air conditioning, and the best part of a Residence Inn, room to spread out. What makes this someplace I would return to are the staff. Without fail, everyone greats with you a hello, how can I help you. The cleaning staff are refreshing public areas all the time. The breakfast items are also kept fresh. Finally the front desk staff: Donna, Charissa, and Yolanda made sure we were well taken care of. I have seen some reviews that mention that noise from air traffic. That did not bother us at all-you hear planes-but you are next to airport. Our party of three would definitely stay here again!
