Nice hotel, But I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the bathtub. When I added hot water to the bathtub, a lot of dust and even a hair came out. I had to wash and rinse the tub several times to get it clean. I understand that hotel service is low in Ireland, but this is a 4-star hotel. The price for rooms is high for Europe. It would be great, at least nice to clean. Breakfast was great, delicious.

This is a very dated and basic 4 star hotel. The first thing you notice when you come through the revolving door to the lobby is a big pillar right in front of you. Very strange indeed .The mats were also quite dirty. Not a great start. I will say the rooms are very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The food and service was also top notch. Could not fault it . Unfortunately the Lir Bar & Brasserie was very cold and completely devoid of any atmosphere . One more major negative is the lack of easy access for wheelchair users. Because of the revolving door a gentleman we saw had to use the emergency exit door adjacent to the main door to go outside for a smoke. He then had to wait to be let back in as the emergency door can only be opened from inside. This is disgraceful. The owners need to re do the front entrance as a priority in my opinion.

We arrived on Tuesday 29 July. We were met with a lovely reception. Our room was beautiful, lovely and cool. We didn't dine in , but restaurant and bar was full all the time. Menu looked fab. Our breakfast in the morn was exceptional. This was galway race week , hotel full, and we had a cooked to order breakfast which I love. Piping hot ,and very tasty. Staff one nicer than than next. Would definitely recommend staying.

The hotel was very clean. The staff were very welcome. The dinner menu was very extensive and reasonably priced. Breakfast was delicious. Only downside was when I went to get toast I came back to find my plate and cup gone from the table! The bedroom was clean and well decorated. Small downside was the extractor units running on the roof all night.

Staff were very welcoming. The room (family room) was more than adequate. Quite luxurious in fact. Breakfast was lovely and staff couldn’t do more for us. Thank you. We will be back.

Fantastic⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Wedding Tasting to Remember! We had the pleasure of attending a wedding food tasting with Clayton Jesnandes, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the very first bite, it was clear that every dish was crafted with passion, precision, and a deep understanding of flavor. The presentation was elegant, and the attention to detail was incredible. Each course felt like a preview of the celebration we’ve been dreaming of. The balance of textures, the seasoning, and the creativity behind each plate were nothing short of amazing. Not only was the food exceptional, but Clayton himself made the entire experience warm and welcoming. He took the time to explain the ingredients and inspiration behind each dish, and was open to feedback while offering professional suggestions tailored to our vision. We left the tasting feeling excited, confident, and grateful. If you’re looking for a wedding chef who combines talent with heart, Clayton Jesnandes is the one. Highly recommended!

I don't normally contribute to these review sites but my poor experience here warrants a customer service warning to future prospective clients My wife and I stayed at Lough Rea Hotel & Spa as part of an overnight trip to celebrate our birthdays after a trip to a local Michelin Star restaurant. The intention was to relax in the spa facilities the next morning after Breakfast in bed. After check-in we arrived at our room we noted · No bath-robes or slippers available despite the fact that we had booked the Spa facility in advance. · There were tea and coffee facilities available in the room but no herbal teas. I returned to the front desk to ask if there was a possibility of herbal tea which I was told to go to the bar and ask there. As an aside I would recommend strongly to provide the herbal option for any customers that may potentially have that preference or indeed be pregnant. · On return from the restaurant we ordered breakfast to be delivered to the bedroom for 9:30 am to allow us time to prepare for the Spa facilities · When breakfast had not arrived by 9:45 I went to the reception desk. The phone in the room was apparently an older phone which meant that when I tried to contact the reception I was pushed to an outside line and dialling in via the booking centre. So I went to the reception to have a face to face conversation. · I advised that we had booked breakfast for the room. At which point I was introduced to the duty manager (Julian) who indicated that due to high volume of breakfasts that they were behind and that if we could wait a further 10 minutes breakfast would be delivered. I indicated that we were booked for the Spa so that if breakfast could not come in the next 10 minutes then we were not going to rush to use the Spa. I was advised that it was almost on it’s way. The fact that your team knew there was a delay in the breakfast should have warranted a call to our room (pro-active approach) rather than awaiting my complaint. · At that point while I was at reception we decided it would be prudent to cancel the Spa. Unfortunately there was a mis-understanding from the receptionist and she instead cancelled the breakfast unbeknownst to me. · 45 minutes later I returned to the reception to determine where our breakfast was. Only to be told then it had been cancelled. · At that stage breakfast was over and we were under pressure to get back on the road to Dublin. · At check-out time I made a complaint to the reception of the things that had gone wrong at which point the duty manager suggested that we have lunch. But that was not a runner given that we had to be back in Dublin to collect our young children and had to get breakfast in a shop on the way home. · We were advised by the duty manager that the New General Manager would call us later in the week to arrange some kind of recompense. It appears as though someone did attempt to call my wife t

The hotel itself is nice, bar and restaurant are the same place no where comfy to relax, dinner was nice, room was lovely but I noticed carpet needs a cleaning, spa was OK, staff were very nice but nothing special in the facilities, we have been to alot of spas and what we noticed was after treatment you had to get back in to your wet bath rope and slippers which felt very cold, you are not offered anything in relaxation room, most places will offer you fruit juice and fruits, have to sat staff very nice but the finishing touches lets the spa down
