I love and trust the Kimpton brand… so it was a no brainer to book and pay a little more when my husband and I traveled to LA for a march madness game. Upon entry of the hotel, all things matched my expectations for a Kimpton. The room was nice but it felt like an upgraded by decor 3 star hotel. The room layout and set up was similar to a basic hotel room and didn’t have all the amenities in the room I am used to when staying at a Kimpton. NOTHING WAS WRONG or BAD. The room was just ok and not what I expected. The game room and bar were awesome and so fun to relax in after the game. We had some special perks through our travel agency. At first it wasn’t provided and checkout but when we informed the staff, they immediately took care of it! It was a wonderful stay overall- parking is $48!!! FYI

We booked a 5 night stay on points and extended for an additional 3 nights. There is wonderful Ambassador status recognition and we were thrilled with our upgraded 2 bedroom suite that allowed us to feel very comfortable during our stay. The room used to be dorms so they are laid out more like apartments and spacious. One little detail that was great was there is a square on the shower door that you can turn on the water so the water can get warm and you don't have to risk getting wet! I wish all hotels (and homes) had this! The restaurant for breakfast is outdoors so it during our stay in late April/early May it was chilly most mornings, but they had plenty of heat lamps available. If you are using the $25 credit vouchers per person, per day with elite breakfast amenity know that you will be paying out of pocket as most things are ”LA priced” and you are responsible for taxes and gratuity. The restaurant on the first floor (STK Westwood) is rather fancy but the happy hour drink/food specials are great and worth doing early dinners. It was a little chilly for the pool, but it looked nice. The location notes ”West Beverly Hills” but you are really in Westwood which is a great neighborhood and right by UCLA. You are within walking to distance to restaurants, shopping, etc. The internet was fast and reliable. There was one large table with 4 chairs so we shared that as shared working space. Since we had two bedrooms we could use one of those for when we both had phone calls or zooms.

Beautiful environment, rich villa area. The waiter is very good and enthusiastic. Help us to contact taxis, guide the way, etc., are very patient. Traveling with family and friends is a very good choice.

I booked this hotel mainly for the convenience of renewing my ID. Actually, I can still get there, but it was raining all the time, so I took Lyft to and from. Compared with the hotels I stayed in before when I came to the United States, the breakfast was actually quite good. The yogurt was of high quality, and there were more choices of tea bags. Pancakes can also be made on the spot. But you have to take the breakfast to the room, so it's not bad. Although small, it has everything. I stayed there for a bowl of ID, and after I got it done, I moved to the Chinese Hotel. The transportation is very convenient, there are museums around, and it's all near the UCLA campus. There are many banks, supermarkets, and drug stores, which are also very convenient. If you are not sensitive to price, it's okay to stay here for one or two nights. There is another hotel next to this hotel, but it feels like it should be more expensive than it. The two are next to each other, on a one-way street.

We were very pleased with our 3 night stay here. The location is wonderful for all things Westwood and UCLA, there are many restaurants nearby (including Noahs and Starbucks for breakfast options), Hammer Museum (free admission), UCLA Botanical Garden (also free), etc. The hotel is beautiful and remarkably well maintained. Indoor (pay) parking, easy elevator and stair access to all floors, a pleasant lobby, and a very nice, welcoming, and helpful staff at check in and for housekeeping (on request). Our room was very large, with a separate living room (albeit no door between bedroom and living room) and very well appointed kitchenette. The rate we paid was very reasonable and we will happily return to PLR. We have stayed in many places around Westwood for decades, but never knew about PLR (even though our niece lived in an apartment building right next door!)--we will certainly make this our #1 accommodation for future stays.

Room decoration is highly recommended! ! It can be used as the cover of the little red book! The distinctive silver-gray-diamond-white series is very elegant. The room I chose is not big but very comfortable. The only thing worth complaining is that the snacks and drinks in the refrigerator are relatively expensive, so it is better to buy them at the convenience store. The surrounding area is very quiet at night, and it is also in a relatively safe area in Los Angeles. It is relatively close to the outer circle of ucla, and it is very close to a small hot pot restaurant in northern cafe ( Walking distance to trader joes and Whole Foods Ralphs, etc., is more convenient. The service at the front desk of the hotel is very good, especially thoughtful. There is a water bar on the first floor, which serves different kinds of coffee for free. I also saw a delicious croissant in the morning. There is a small garden on the first floor, very small.
