Our family of four recently spent a night at the DoubleTree by Hilton near Little Tokyo, and our experience was, on the whole, satisfactory. The hotel certainly met our basic needs, though it didn't leave a particularly strong impression one way or the other.
The highlight for many, I'm sure, is the location. Being within easy reach of Little Tokyo was a definite advantage, allowing us to immerse ourselves in the local culture and cuisine without much hassle.
The room we had accommodated our family adequately, it felt a little tight on space for 4 people as we had 2 people on each of the queen beds. The cleanliness of the room was commendable, but the overall aesthetic and furnishings felt somewhat dated.
An example are the TVs - they aren't smart TVs but have Direct TV so it felt very 1990s. Most hotels now you can scan your YouTube account or log in with Netflix.
Service throughout the hotel was generally efficient and courteous. Staff members were helpful when approached, though interactions were more functional than particularly warm or engaging. Check-in and check-out processes were straightforward and quick.
We opted to explore the diverse dining options in Little Tokyo rather than eat at the hotel restaurant.
In conclusion, the DoubleTree by Hilton near Little Tokyo offers a dependable option for families seeking a conveniently located hotel. It provides the standard amenities and service one expects from the Hilton brand, but it lacks a certain spark or modern touch that would elevate it beyond simply ”average.” If location is your primary concern and you're looking for a solid, no-frills stay, this hotel is worth considering.

We came during the No Kings rally in LA. We were coming from San Jose and I was a bit worried about the situation. The hotel grounds were pretty safe and staff was honest enough to tell us to be cautious. Though the rooms were small, it had everything a modern hotel room could dream of. You control everything via the iPad or you can download their app. They also give back to the community every single day you don't ask your room to be cleaned. Great hotel, highly recommended.

There was no early check-in and we only managed to check-in at 3pm though we came 2hrs earlier due to our flight. Hotel rooms and toilet was very clean and spacious. There was an issue with our shower but room service took 20mins to come so that caused a little inconvenience on us. The hotel is in downtown LA too and it’s a walking distance to the Metro and the Grand Central Market but it can get pretty unsafe in the night as there are a lot of homeless people and weird/crazy people on the streets and near the metro.

Everything is fine but only valet parking available which cost near USD$70 is extremely expensive, recommend park car to another $10/night parking available 10 minutes walking distance

The room was a bit small, especially the double bed, but it offered great value for money. It's located on a safe street downtown, and there aren't any homeless people sleeping outside. It's also very close to The Last Bookstore, The Broad, and MOCA. For food, The Grand Market has a huge variety of options. If you have a car, valet parking is available for $40 a night, but we opted to find cheaper parking nearby, which was a bit inconvenient.

I have stayed here for many years and always had an exceptional experience from Lynda at the front desk to Clay, the GM, Courtney, the Room Director and the entire Team.
Clearly a well trained group!
Great location, several restaurants within a block.
Wonderful lobby, conductive to working.
My only complaint is the Resort Fee which is unwarranted given it’s a business hotel and it is not necessary- just another fee that so many hotels are unfairly charging.
Hopefully it will stop soon as an unneeded additional fee to the Customer.

The bed in the room is very comfortable, suitable for business trips or family trips. It is close to the Angel Railway and not far from the Central Market. The lobby downstairs is beautiful and worth recommending. However, the bathroom is a bit of a pity and is quite ordinary.

Classy place that acts like a hotel but is definitely a hostel. My room was very comfortable and I had lots of storage and plug-ins at my bunk. The rooftop had an event going on so couldn't use it unfortunately. The location isn't the nicest but is walking distance to the train station which was very convenient and why I booked it. Not outside food or drink allowed unfortunately.

I highly recommend the LA hotel we stayed in this time [strong]. It's right next to several attractions, a food court, and the subway. I took a city walk in the morning.
Aside from the valet parking being expensive, everything else was fine. The good thing is that you can pick up your car anytime, which is really convenient, and the service was excellent!
There are cheaper parking lots nearby for $45 or $50 a day, but be sure to check the specific terms and conditions. They're not as convenient as the $65 a day hotel with 24-hour access (because we parked in a nearby building for two days and ended up paying $100 one day).
The city walk is quite uphill, but thankfully, the attractions are all nearby, so it's quite convenient to walk around [snicker]. The back door on the third floor of the hotel is full of art galleries, music venues, schools...
To the right of the hotel are office buildings, Citibank, Bank of America, and the Angel Train. It's a very short drive. Across the street is a large, bustling food market, and it's a perfect match for the restaurants at the back door on the second floor!
We opted for the business district food court downstairs, as it was packed with office workers. For lunch, we had a salad of our choice and a homemade coffee in our room for just over 100 RMB. [Victory] (The salad 🥗 was incredibly generous, with over 100 items to choose from, and even the five of us couldn't finish it all [snickering]).
We went back to our room for a bit of rest at noon. It's really tough taking care of the elderly and children [tearing off tears and laughing], and we had to take care of everything! We then had a cool summer drink in the lobby, which was refreshing! The fruit was also 🆓 and free to grab. 🍎 It was crisp, sweet, and juicy.
Don't walk around the surrounding blocks at night. There are a lot of black people and homeless people, which can be a bit scary, especially since some people behave strangely and constantly shake trees. The only downside is the lack of convenience stores nearby. We went out to buy milk and instant noodles that evening and almost got scared, but my husband and I managed to stay calm.
Since we were staying for several days, we drove directly to Costco to stock up. The hotel refrigerator is small, but we could still fit some food in our two rooms! Overall, it was quite harmonious during the day, and the room was spacious!

Great
DDaofeng006Almost all are perfect, the surrounding environment of the hotel is actually very good, there are indeed some tramps, and I heard some suggestions not to go out at night around, I feel some are not suitable, but all do not affect his love, will choose next time, the room decoration is very comfortable, Like the top hotels in China, there is no need to worry about hygiene. Breakfast is on the Marriott lobby side, and it is OK, there is a Mexican breakfast that I like. Los Angeles Chinese city, food don't worry, I recommend San Gaibo's Dongting fresh, authentic Hunan cuisine, recommend purple fish soup, you can drink soup, not red soup.

TTSUNAYUKII stayed for four nights to watch the Dodgers. The location was excellent — close to the stadium and surrounded by many great restaurants and cafés. While the area may not be considered the safest, the hotel and its immediate surroundings were well-lit and felt very comfortable. The room was clean, the gym was fully equipped, and I would definitely like to stay again.

NNicoleThe hotel is located in downtown LA, which isn’t the most desirable part of the city. Cleanliness met expectations, but the service and attitude of staff left room for improvement. You can avoid paying onsite valet parking, there’s a self-parking garage next door for $40 per night. No good breakfast nearby.

MMs ChaiJust across the road from Crypto.com. Super convenient if you are catching a LA Lakers match. Down the road, 8 mins walk to Target. Not noisy. Hotel clean and very comfortable. Definitely will recommend this hotel.

CCalibaybI booked this hotel as a last minute option and was so pleasantly surprised! The hotel was fantastic with a clean room and great service from all staff I encountered. There was even a wall with tap beers you could pour and purchase in the lobby. I also really appreciated that there was a $25 credit given for food and drinks, so I went to the rooftop. The view from the rooftop was AMAZING and the bar staff were so kind. I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel and would definitely return or recommend to friends!

AAnonymous UserThe price of the apartment that Ctrip cooperates with Airbnb is a little better than Airbnb. Airbnb mainly has service fees and cleaning fees, and the number of days is not cost-effective. In downtown, it is suitable for our family to travel for cooking and laundry. There are many places to punch in nearby, very close to the Little Tokyo City Hall. The room is very large with two bedroom suites. The sliding door is separated from each other's privacy protection. The guest restaurant is in the middle. The disadvantage is that the smell of food in the room can't be dissipated, the bed is uncomfortable and the back pain is uncomfortable. I have lived in the United States for more than ten days and this bed is uncomfortable. No one cleans every day without tipping every day, hahaha.
