Calamigos Ranch and Beach Club was the perfect weekend stay for my birthday celebration. From the moment you arrive the staff goes out of their way to make sure you feel welcomed and comfortable. It has the perfect balance between luxury and laid-back approach for a ranch setting that seems that you are far away from Los Angeles for a true getaway. Perfect for Angelenos to go for a nice reset without extensive traveling. The Bungalow we stayed was perfect and very comfortable and had great amenities that you can also take home with you! I highly recommend checking this resort out for a relaxing weekend!

We visit Calamigos for out last 2 nights staying in Los Angeles, and it was by far the best place we stayed. In fact, I'd say it's one of the best places we've ever visited. The whole place is stunning, set in beautiful surroundings. The service is exceptional throughout the whole resort, and all the little added extras make it great value for money. Everything from the champagne on arrival, complimentary bottle of wine and little freebies by the pool, to all the amazing facilities, the private beach and beach club and free use of paddle boards and surf boards made it an experience of a lifetime. Thank you to all the staff for such an amazing stay. Go and visit this place!

Booked a cottage at the last minute and so glad we did. The front desk staff got back to me immediately and they even upgraded us! Much thanks to Vi and Erika for greeting us so warmly and taking care of all our requests. Now, the grounds: extremely beautiful, carefully maintained pool area, charming boardwalk feel as you traveled through the resort and the room decor was outstanding. Book a place with a fireplace if you can and looking out over the pasture. It was very quiet and felt secluded. Cocktails in the lobby were great with a mid century modern, Malibu feel. The valets were terrific too! We were not there long enough to take advantage of beach but will definitely do that next time. There is a cool, modern, laid back elegance to this place that I LOVE. A great place for an LA staycation or a romantic get away. We went mid week when it was quiet, so I don't know what it's like on weekends or if there is a wedding. It's a beautiful retreat, however, no matter what time of week. Can't wait to go back.

This place is a hidden gem! We wanted to surround ourselves with nature but didn't want to travel far and this boutique hotel was the PERFECT spot. It had the mountain feeling yet it had all the luxurious amenities. The cottages and bungalows have herbs and strawberries growing right outside the door. My kids really enjoyed that aspect. We especially loved lounging poolside with a delicious cocktail in hand. The hotel does have a beach club and a shuttle to take you to it. We unfortunately did not make it to the beach but I hear its great too. You cannot go wrong with this hotel!

I stayed at Calamigos ranch for 1 night whilst on a work trip in April, around an hours drive from LAX this is the perfect place for a holiday. From the moment we arrived the staff were very friendly and shown us to our bungalows. The bungalows were very spacious and had all the facilities you would need. They each had a lounge area, bathroom and double room, decorated to a high standard. The breakfast at Calamigos was a buffet with lots of choice from hot breakfast, to pastries, fruit and cereals. The pool area was really cute and again very spacious with plenty of sun loungers. The ranch also has it's own beach club which you can get to via their shuttle service, a 10 minute drive. If you are a guest at the hotel you can get food and drink complimentary at the beach club too. I wish I could have stayed longer at this hotel as there was so much to explore, I would 100% return if I am to return to Malibu again.

How you could give this any less than 5 is beyond me. I am a very picky and critical traveler and only stay in the best properties worldwide. This was a quick stop and having grown up in the area I was surprised I had never heard of this hidden gem! One of my favorite weekend getaways has always been meadow wood in Napa. This place is similar but so much more. It is truly magical. The grounds are beyond spectacular and the rooms were casually elegant. My room gift was an amazing candle and we had snacks and cookies as well! Mgmt was so supportive and all the staff treated you as old friends. We will be back anytime we are in the area. The food at the restaurant was amazing as well. Not an inexpensive stay but worth the cost!
