My friends and I stayed at Huttopia recently, and while the place itself is beautiful, the way we were treated by the site manager left a very bad impression. On our first night, we made a mistake — we were too loud while hanging out and drinking. The manager came to us, and we immediately apologized and took responsibility. We thought that was the end of it. But the next day, during normal daytime hours, we were simply enjoying the pool with our kids and friends. We weren’t being rowdy — just having fun like any family would. Then the same manager approached us again, this time in a very rude and confrontational way, telling us we were being “disrespectful.” It felt completely out of line. There were other people at the pool with food too, but she only singled our group out. When we spoke with those other guests, they said the manager never told them anything and only asked if they were “comfortable with us.” It was embarrassing and felt like we were being unfairly targeted. We’re a minority group, and unfortunately, we left feeling like that may have played a part in how we were treated. I don’t throw that kind of accusation around lightly, but the inconsistent enforcement of rules and the public way we were called out, especially after already apologizing the night before, made us feel singled out and unwelcome. It’s sad, because Huttopia has a lot of potential — but we will not be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who expects to be treated equally and with respect.

We are extremely disappointed with our experience at this establishment. The management is unprofessional, and it’s clear that customer service is not a priority. General Manager Marie was a clear lack of basic courtesy and respect. What’s even more troubling is the sense of unfair treatment that we experience. Certain customers seemed to be treated differently based on their background or appearance, which raised serious concerns about discrimination and racial bias. No one should ever feel uncomfortable, unwelcome, or judged. We booked here supposedly for 2 nights with 6 families (6 tents) and 16 kids that all we wanted was to have fun and celebration but checked out the next day for this unfair treatment and felt disrespected in front of other people mostly IN FRONT of our kids. Traumatic experience. She made us feel as if we owe them our stay even though we pay for it. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!! Imagine kids cannot be kids who scream and get excited when playing because other nationals are not open to join our colors. One-sided treatment!!! Every customer deserves to be treated with dignity and fairness. Unfortunately, that is not what we experienced here. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, as no business can thrive while ignoring issues of equality and respect. I would not recommend it for families, especially those with young children. NOT a family-friendly glamping experience. 👎👎👎

A Staycation Getaway - In a Tent!
Huttopia Paradise Springs is a very relaxing & quiet tent camping resort. I wouldn't call it glamping, as it doesn't have the high end amenities like other glamping hotel chains. This is definitely still tent camping, but with lots of space and supplies that is set up & ready for you. It was very clean & well maintained, the tents have everything you need (except wifi, but thats a plus for me). They have a great little book & games cabin with things to entertain you (or bring your own). The pool is not heated and VERY cold when the weather starts to dip into cool temps at night. The little kitchen has great food options that we really enjoyed. Depending on the time of year, come prepared for tons of mosquitos. The tents are very good at keeping the bugs & mosquitos out - we saw only 1 or 2 inside. Its great having a bathroom in the tent. The sunrise there was really beautiful and the surrounding scenery is relaxing. The Devil's Punchbowl Trail nearby is great. Huttopia is a great spot to escape LA & take a break, but I think the price is a bit high for what you get (having stayed at many similar resorts). Thankfully it seems like the prices are going down for the tail end of the season.

We visited Huttopia Paradise Springs with 2 other families. We stayed in the Trappeur tents in Coulter pine which was nicely located near all the amenities as we had small kids with us. We were very impressed by the tents, they were spacious and comfortable for a family of 4, in particular we liked the cozy beds and the outdoor kitchen and deck. Overall we had an excellent weekend. The whole set up for kids is great - they had a blast playing in the stream, running around the camp, playing in the playground, and doing all the activities on offer there (scavenger hunt, arts and crafts) The Bistro was nice for coffee/lunch and we cooked our own food at night. We definitely hope to return sometime. Our only improvement would be for the pool to be heated as it was too cold for the kids to swim in.

Fantastic location just outside of LA. It's an ideal spot for a weekend getaway with friends. The area is stunning, the site is well-maintained, and the accommodations are spacious and beautiful. Our group was staying in the upper side of the site, a short walk from the main buildings. It's a very quiet space, exactly what we were looking for. I'll definitely be back.

We stayed at the Paradise Springs location in one of the Trappeur tents. First and foremost, they don’t write this one their website and only communicate it to you after the refund date has passed, but there is ZERO cell phone service available. You can only access WiFi from the main camping general area, which is NOT close by. Had we known this up front, we would have never booked our stay. Even 1 mbps of WiFi would have been enough for us to check email or text loved ones in an emergency. It really is a matter of safety. Secondly, information about the accommodations and the tent itself was not provided. We saw there was a lock on the outside of our door but we did not have a key to use it. Our door never closed properly, and we were freezing, which would have helped keep the warmth in as well as kept us a bit more safe. We saw that there was a way to use the lock on the inside, but without a key, it was useless. There was also no hot water and no instruction on how to get hot water. The little lantern lights on our bedsides were battery operated, which is fine, except they were DEAD, and even if we had miraculously managed to bring batteries along with us, the lanterns required small screwdrivers to open up the battery compartment. This was ridiculous. The cooler that was provided for us to keep our food in smelled like rotting carcass. It clearly had not been cleaned or aired out properly. We had no idea where the outlets were. Luckily my husband found one under the rug. These things could have easily been communicated with us. The carts to help us bring our belongings in were NOWHERE to be found — until we started walking around and saw them being left at each tent. They should purchase a cart for each tent and put the numbers on them so that everyone can use them equally. People were so loud with their music, yelling, children screaming well beyond your 10pm curfew (they carried on until 2am!). The place has a “walkie talkie” that you can walk to, but who is going to do that in the middle of the night? They should consider getting landlines for each tent if they don’t have cell service. Last but not least, no campfires. There is one large communal one but a staff member has to be present. Not sure how that works out. This place could have been awesome, but it is lacking some serious elements that would have made it a safe and enjoyable experience.
