RMH Lopud Lafodia Resort & Wellness

The rooms are well-kept and spacious with friendly staff. Guests appreciate the clean services and stunning location on Lopud Island. They also enjoy the varied and tasty breakfast served by helpful staff.

We’d stayed at the Lafodia on a few previous occasions and had always enjoyed it. However, this holiday was less than satisfactory. First, the positives. The places is still scrupulously clean and the staff are all lovely and anxious to please. The positives, sadly, are outweighed by the negatives. The place is tired and needs a major refresh. The furniture in the breakfast room is symptomatic of this. Sad-looking dark wood is less than welcoming. This is compounded in the dining room by depressing lace curtains and plastic flowers. The sofas in the Baja bar are also in urgent need of replacement. The raffia has been pulled away, leaving bare patches, am,ing the whole area look ropey. The shops and offices on the two ground floor concourses are mostly unoccupied, creating a neglected air that is quite unsettling. This is a big hotel and needs human beings moving about to avoid the impression of desertion. On our last evening there was a violent thunderstorm, meaning that residents had to stay in. Despite that, the Bar Des Amis didn’t open until fairly late. No music, no bustle. It had the air of a crematorium. Bedrooms are still mostly OK. However, the bathrooms need urgent attention. Our shower was pretty well past it, with the bottom door seal peeling away from its housing. I have no pleasure in reporting any of this. I’ve always thoroughly enjoyed my stays at the Lafodia. But the owners really need to spend some big bucks on refreshing their offering and injecting a bit of life back into it. In the meantime, I can only report that I am seriously disappointed and will not stay there again.
