Longreach Most Central Motel

I rang the motel but it seems that it is the same number of the hotel part, if there is an actual motel. I was booked into a really bad hotel room that would rate at best 1.5 stars. I remember staying in a hotel room decades ago and that room was decidedly better than the central. The person I spoke to did not tell me they were putting me into a hotel room and I found this on arrival. The room forced me to share a disgusting, dirty shared bathroom, and the 'desk' in the room wobbled so much I could not use it to do some writing I needed/wanted to do. If it didn't wobbled so much there was no chair to sit at to use the table. And at $172.00 per night it was far more expensive than many of the other 3.0 to 4.0 star motel rooms I used. The cheapest and not worst of these was $120 per night. I would advise anyone looking at Longreach if this is the only accommodation you can get into don't go to Longreach!

This pub/motel is clearly cashing in on the unavailability of good motels in the area. Beds were built for torture on your back and heaps of dust to really do wonders for your allergies. Bathroom light was non existent, but the shower was good pressure and heat. When it longreach book early as not to get stuck with a room at this establishment!!

This place is disgusting. How authorities allow this establishment to trade is beyond me. If it is the only accommodation you can get in Longreach - do not go. The hand basin in the room was filthy. No lock on the bathroom toilet door. Shower was filthy. Curtains in room broken. It’s is basically a drive thru bottle shop. The bar area is far from inviting.

Bathroom was full of Spiders and termites eating the bathroom cabinet away in front of me, I was told this one of the better rooms 😳 rest of room was filthy . The “PUB” was horrible it’s mainly a bottle shop , pub down the Road much nicer .

This had to be the worst motel room I have ever seen. 2 couples travelling ran out of accommodation options and booked 2 rooms at the Central motel last night. We were charged $238/ room. What we found when we entered the rooms were filthy and rooms which were more consistent with $60 per night rooms. Our bathroom had mouldy tiles and grout, missing tiles, dirt and dust everywhere and was without a shower curtain. The grime had built up over a long period, there was no indication of cleaning the bathroom properly. The vanity unit was rotting at the side and front. Please look at photos. I considered not showering, but after 4 nights camping wore thongs in the shower and the room. We also considered bringing our swag in to sleep in. Our friends room had two stubby caps on the table beside the single bed which looked as though it had been slept in. Upon checking out, I spoke with the owner, Matt, who told me that was the market rate...I told him that may be the market rate for a clean and well appointed room. I also told him that I would publish the photos and he really wasn't interested. No one we spoke to around town was at all surprised at our experience.

This establishment is the worst accommodation I have ever stayed in. It was filthy, old, run down , absolutely disgusting. Stayed one night, 3 couples paying close to $300 for each of the rooms. The shower in one room was broken, water sprayed up the wall and over the screen. Towels were rough, the room was rough and in need of a great deal of TLC. Supplies of tea and coffee was minimal, unbelievable really. Thankfully it was one night only , we arrived by train from Brisbane and needed to collect a rental car the next morning . Wish we had opted for a maxi taxi to take us directly to the Wellshot Hotel at Illfracombe . It would have been way less expensive and a much more pleasant welcome to Longreach.

The queen bed was broken. It was so old! It was very noisy and VERY overpriced for what you got! Please DO NOT stay here! The only thing going for it is it’s location. We didn’t go to their pub, we were not willing to give them any more of my money! Fit out is extremely basic! If u have an Amazon account the TV is great.

This was the worst place we have ever stayed at! We were eventually moved from a 2 bedroom cabin for 2 nights to a motel room because the loo was blocked. The cabin was $330 a night and we were advised that we might be entitled to a refund -we didn’t expect this to happen and it hasn’t. At $330 a night we expected more than curtains hanging off the rails, one knife for four people, etc etc. The location was near the main drag but right by the pub so was noisy at night.

So the cabin cost $315 for the night. One would expect a 5 star room for that price. It was more like 2 star. It was good being next to the carpark to watch our caravan. The central location was also good. The cabin itself left a lot to be desired. For example: The curtains were holding up by a thread. We fixed up what we could. The fan control button was missing. The tv was dusty. The bathroom handbasin was stained. The old air conditioners were noisy flicking on and off. The main bed mattress was rough to say the least. The cutlery drawer had a random mix of cheap items. Best stop now but overall this unit is way overpriced for it's condition.
