Marriott Long Beach Downtown

A nice hotel with a smooth and hassle-free check-in process. The front desk staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the arrival experience pleasant. The facilities are all very new and well-maintained, giving the hotel a modern and comfortable atmosphere.

Wow! Stayed for 2 nights over the weekend for a birthday celebration, and we were impressed by the hotel. The look, ambiance and feel of the hotel was amazing. Staff at the front desk was great, always approachable. Property has plenty of parking spaces, might be a little tight and a challenge for larger trucks/SUVs. When we got into the room we were highly impressed by the aesthetic, it was like quiet modern but had minimalist feels to it, plenty of outlets. Bathroom had plenty of counter space, we love the lamps in the room too. Just overall pleasing to the eyes. We had lounge access with our bonvoy membership, the staff at the lounge could be a little better, did not feel welcoming during service hours when staff was there. Breakfast selections was much better than the afternoon selection. Coffee machine was out of order for the 2 days we were there. We ordered room service one day, had the saucy wings and burrata flatbread, both surprisingly amazing! Just be aware, property does have resort fee. Overall, highly recommend, we'd probably stay again!

We stayed at this hotel twice in February prior to 2 cruises leaving from the World Cruise Terminal in San Pedro. This Marriott is in a great location. It’s about 25 minutes from the Long Beach Airport & the World Cruise Terminal. It is directly across the street from the Convention Center & a short walk to the Pike Outlet Center & Shoreline Village. There are many restaurants around the hotel if you don’t mind walking 5-15 minutes to either the Outlet Center, the Village or The Promenade (located behind the hotel). The lobby was bright & clean & the front desk staff were warm & friendly. There are 6 elevators in the lobby & they were very fast. We never had to wait long to get one. The gym is well equipped & much better than standard hotel gyms. Be aware that there is a destination charge of $30 per night that will not be waived. This fee includes a $15 food credit among other things that can be used at the bar/restaurant or the coffee shop that has Starbucks coffee. We ordered wings from the bar. They cost $23 for 6 wings & they weren’t very flavorful. The next day we went to the coffee shop & bought snacks & coffee. On our first stay from 02/16/26-02/18/26, we were able to select an M-Club Room which costs more, but we thought it was worth it. This was a king room on the twelfth floor, room 1205, & included access to the M-Club Lounge which provided snacks, water, soda, coffee & tea all day & hors d’oeuvres & desserts in the evening for a few hours & breakfast in the morning. This was a nice perk as we were able to pop in for refreshments after exploring the city. The breakfast was very good & there was a nice selection to choose from. The only downside to the M-Club was that the water, soda & snacks were not replenished in a timely manner. By the end of the second day, there was no water or soda left. The room itself was large, clean & had an in-room safe & small refridgerator. We had a nice view of the city since we were up so high. Unfortunately, we did not get a good night’s sleep since we like a firm mattress & the bed had a very soft & squishy one. Also, it took a very long time for the water to get hot in the shower. We were done with our shower that we took in mostly lukewarm before it got hot. This was close to 10 minutes! After the first morning, we learned to turn on the shower & check back after 10 minutes to see how hot it was. We selected the same hotel for our second stay, 02/27/26-02/28/2026, because Enterprise Rental Car Company was right across the street. This made it very convenient since we could walk to the hotel after returning the car. This time the room was 425 & not part of the M-Club. It was a king room & huge! It was totally different from the previous room. This one had a couch, in-room safe, & refrigerator. It also had a separate dressing area with a table to put makeup on. I traveled with my family to LA for the Junior Olympics and we stayed at the Long Beach Marriott Downtown. I chose this property because I have Marriott Status and I was traveling with my family so I was looking for a suite, a nice M lounge, a nice gym and a good location. This property checked all of these boxes. I booked a Junior Suite. Check in was easy. Parking is on site but is pricey ($47/night). That is expected for LA but if you are not from this area just be aware that this is the going rate. There is not a valet ( I was fine with that) and the garage is attached to the hotel with in and out privileges. If you are going to pay $47 bucks for parking at least it was convenient! We asked for bedding for the pull out coach and to my surprise housekeeping came and prepared the bedding for us while we were out. I really appreciated that- especially since these days this level of service is not always offered. The first night there was a plumbing issue with the toilet- a plumber came immediately but the issue persisted the next day. Leila (sp?) at the front desk was extremely accommodating and they moved us to a suite (a nicer one!) the next day. The M lounge is nice- they offer hot hors d'oeuvre most nights. Courtney and Angel offered awesome service the mornings that we were there. The breakfast in the morning is buffet style and is also offered through the restaurant. They had fresh fruit, chia seed pudding, yogurt parfaits and hot breakfast items. If you are an elite member you will get M lounge access with breakfast for 2 people, if your party is larger than that there is a per person charge. More and more I am noticing Marriott properties with this policy and enforcing it, so just be aware. The M lounge is open throughout the day for snacks and drinks. The fancy coffee machine was down the whole time we were there but they had drip coffee. It is a nice place to work on your lap top. The hotel restaurant was good- we really enjoyed their poke bowl and the Caesar salad. I work out when I travel so I was THRILLED with this gym (you can tell because those are the only pictures I have to post lol). They had a stair climber (my fav and most hotel gyms don't have this!), treadmills, peloton bikes, heavy weights, trx bands and a private studio with a tv that had on demand classes. I was very happy. The pool is outside and there is a hot tub. We didn't use the pool or hot tub but it looked nice. Overall we truly had an enjoyable stay. The service was excellent. Oh and I really appreciated that they did not have an annoying resort fee that lots of hotels are tacking on these days. They also had microwaves on each floor near the ice machines fyi. One other tip- there is a Longbeach Marriott and it is different from this property, so make sure you know which one you are booking. When I was checking in, 2 parties were there trying to check in and they were at the wrong Marriott. :-(

Great location. Beautiful hotel, from the lobby to the hotel rooms. Service was exceptional in the hotel M Club. Highly recommend this hotel if you are visiting Long Beach.
